Am I rude?

(Michelle) #1

So… typically I work from home and that suits me just fine. This week, I have to be in the office for all day meetings. yuck. A bunch of co-workers are coming in from out of town, and planned this dinner tonight for all of us. I’m a “maybe” on the invite, since, I have no interest in going out with them (and of course, who will walk my dog?? he’s got to go potty after long day).

I brought my own lunch (olives, some nuts, and bacon) and then I will probably convert to a NO for dinner cause I just don’t want to deal. If you were my out of town co-workers, would you think I’m a mighty B?

Give it to me, I can take honesty.

No, I’m with you!

no!
especially since it is not good for puppers to hold their bladder too long!

it isn’t “rude” or being a B to have a “previous commitment that cannot be changed”…they don’t need to know it’s potty time and pajamas!

p.s. who cares what they think? LOL

(Michelle) #4

YES ^^^^^ this. Definitely not me.

(Bacon for the Win) #5

this. go home to the pups.

I always prioritise my dog. He means more to me than what any random people I have to associate with.

(Insert witty quote here) #7

Not at all! I WFH, too, and I don’t participate in any social events with my coworkers, other than the occasional lunch. Just not my thing. If they think you’re rude because of that, it’s their problem, really, not yours.

I don’t think you are rude at all!

Dinner at home with the happily relieved pup!

Thanks all. Happy to report that I did go straight home and have dinner with my pup. He’s the best person I know anyway!! Planning for the same thing tonight. :dog2:

Not rude. All the people I work with would absolutely understand the need to take care of the dog first.

Not rude. You have to take care of a situation at home. Leave it at that. This is after hours and not required for your job. It’s nice if you are able. I would RSVP with regrets.
