Am I fat adapted?

So I just noticed the last few days I have not craved sweets at all!! I have been doing keto for 9 weeks and this is the first time I haven’t had to eat a fat bomb after dinner for the sweet craving. I’m also getting full alot faster than before. Does this mean I am fat adapted?

fat adaption as a cellular process, will continue for months or maybe a year or longer. You are probably what most people would call “keto adapted”, which means your cells are now burning fat well enough that your basic physiological needs are being met with ease, and your brain isnt sending out panic signals any more

Does that mean I can cut back on my fat now?

i wouldnt. Ive been sticking to keto for about 7.5 months now and my fat intake has gotten higher not lower. but thats me. The way I see it, your body is signaling that its found a sweet spot, if it aint broke dont fix it. If your forcing fat, maybe thats different, but if you are eating stuff that is working for you, stick to that.

At first I just counted carbs. I found that I would gain some weeks doing that. I upped my fat and started counting fat and carbs. I am now losing consistency albeit slowly (about 1-2 lb a week). I do find though that I have had to force the fat in. The last few days, I feel so full like I just ate a Thanksgiving meal! It’s a miserable feeling, but I’m scared to cut the fat because that has helped me in the past.

Meaning what? How much are you eating? It’s a high fat WOE.

Yes. I eat 20 or less carbs and 126ish grams of fat. I don’t count protein.

Indeed, eat your ratios till you feel thanksgiving full. If its full on fat, then keep doing it. However, most importantly - don’t eat when you’re not hungry - even if it is a normal meal time. Of course you have to do that within reason. If you don’t eat dinner because you’re not hungry at 7pm - and then wake up at 2am and want to eat - the next day - recalibrate your signals. You will learn to recognize the new, proper signals your body sends about satiety and lack of satiety. Satiety is the next step after feeling “Full”.
