All-meat eaters say they feel great - but why?

carnivore

ABC Radio National is the Australian broadcaster.

The incredulity is massive in the reporting.

Positive effects of low carb diet, especially carnivore, are found in self-selected groups. People think they are sick and it is purely a mental change that cures them. It is not a ‘real’ benefit.

Confounded by people doing two meals a day, and from the weight loss, and that means the benefits are not from the food in the diet.

LDL-cholesterol will go “sky high” and you will have a heart attack.

I think this must be a reallly person specific thing.
For example, I know someone who had an autoimmune issue so went carnivore and found their mental health unexpectedly improved greatly.
I’m hoping to improve an inflammation thing.
Others may be hoping to lose weight, some may want to increase weight!
Whatever the reason most people trying carnivore for one issue find their general feeling of happiness improves too!

I think you have it. Humans are complicated biology. Different responses to the medical elimination diet version of this way of eating.

I remember back in the 2010s that the ketogenic diet was regarded as an elimination diet, and that once people had taken the health benefit that they needed, then they could go back to normal, and the waiting arms of their family’s and friends dinner tables.

I think one reason we feel great is the eureka moment.
We have discovered we can heal ourselves with food. (And the elimination of other foods)
This is a powerful feeling and something 99% of the population seem unaware of!

I think this is the lion’s share of it. Why do they feel great? Because they’re not eating stuff that makes them feel otherwise.
