All I want is steak!

I thought you were all crazy when I first started keto… steak all the time. And with butter on top!

Now I am craving steak with butter all the time. What is with that?? Is there a reason I feel like a vampire and dream of bloody steaks? :slight_smile:

Also – I have lost 10 pounds in 17 days. I am 5’ 7" and I weigh 147.7 now (I started at 158). I don’t have that much to lose… and I wasn’t expecting to lose so much, so fast. As long as I am not damaging my MR by eating too few calories (I don’t think I am!), is this healthy?

Some folks think that cravings are tied to physiological deficiencies. You’re short on some vitamin or mineral, and you crave a food source of it. There are so many vitamins and minerals in steak with butter, seems possible.

Alternatively, deliciousness.

I have been all over rib-eye kabobs for the past month or two. Best part is they’re cheaper than salmon right now. I still take omega 3 supps every day still. Pretty tough to beat a fairly heavily salted med rare ribeye kabob on the grill.

I’d say your body likes what is going on, and wants more of the same. :slightly_smiling_face:

I remember the literal “mouth-watering” feeling 50 years ago, as a kid, when mom was going to make steaks for dinner. Ah - that cooked, slightly crispy fat around the edges…

I crave steak almost daily. Steak IS Awesome!

I crave chicken liver salads… just seared chicken livers, red onions, deglaze with apple cider vinegar and swirl around a pat of cold butter add terragon and throw over baby spinach … yum! crave this all the time
