Alamodraft House Keto Options

(Anita) #1

Hello all!! I am going to a eat in theater tonight called Alamodraft House. I am located in Texas, but looking over their menu it doesn’t look to promising for keto eaters. Does anyone know of any hacks for this dine in theater?

Just about any burger with no bun. No sauces, etc…

The carnivore pizza looks good… Just eat the toppings…

I used to have anxiety over will I find something keto but no more. I have yet to find a eating establishment that I couldn’t find a low carb item or make it one by subtracting bread etc.

Stick to meat, ask for a dish of butter on the side. To be clear, tell the waiter you want a lot of butter. When s/he brings the dish of butter to the table dump it onto your plate and immediately ask for refill unless it looks like this.

Just make sure it’s butter… Real butter tastes, smells and feels ( texture ) nothing like margarine…
I can always believe it’s not butter…

Thanks, Gregory! Very important detail. Never presume. I think most of us can believe it’s not…

Anita, ask for a dish of Kerrygold. If the server looks confused, add: “OK, I’ll settle for any real butter you’ve got.”

PS: this forum needs a butter emoji!!!

I agree!!!

Been in Houston for 2 weeks but fasted part of this week so my brick of Kerrygold lasted 2 weeks with 2 Tbl left over. Butter keeps in my backpack (unlike the HWC I had to toss, but only a small amount) so I thought about tossing it also but couldn’t bring myself to. If I get hungry I can chow on it :laughing; Since they only serve carbage on the flights now that peanuts are forbidden I have it in case! Probably just set it in the butter dish when I get home.

Janie, ghee lasts almost forever at room temps. I always have a jar of it in the pantry. Use it daily.

I keep both my homemade ghee AND butter on my counter. None have ever molded before I used it

And traveled to Europe and China with butter packets in my backpack that kept unrefrigerated the entire trip (usually a week)

I always pack some macadamia nuts in my carry on just in case of delays, close connections etc.

I used to go to the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, pre-keto, and loved their greek salad. And, you can always sneak in extra treats in your bag - I used to bring in kale chips :star_struck: … Nowadays I think their meat quality has improved too.
