Hello Everyone,
I have been on this journey for 6 months now. I have been extremely successful and am grateful to have finally accepted the keto way of life. I have lost almost 100 pounds to this point and it did come off fast and more recently the weight loss has slowed but I feel fantastic. I am officially off all diabetes medications, no more insulin or metformin, which was my ultimate goal! Keto is an amazing way of life!
Moving forward I wanted to increase my success with my overall health. I was wondering what other things I could do to help further my journey in addition to keeping my carbs low? I currently do intermittent fasting on a regular basis. Can anyone give me tips on fasting for more than 16 hours at a time? 24 hours or more? What types of fasting are beneficial and what I would need to do?
Also, what are your thoughts on carb ups or cheat days? I read that sometimes a carb up meal could help jump start your metabolism if you are stalled. I have cheated twice to this point and both times it seemed to kick start my weight loss a little. I don’t know if this is a normal thing but is that something that people do to help bolster their keto success?
Thank you in advance for any insights you can give me!
Matt
