Accidentally ate 60 grams carbs on Keto

#1

I have been doing keto diet for about 2 weeks and lost 10 lbs on it. However by mistake I accidentally ate a snack having 60 grams carbs. I was horrified when I discovered. Label said low fat and I mistakenly thought it meant low carb. First and last mistake.

Everyday I was eating 20 to 30 gram net carbs along with high saturated fat foods and much higher protein than normal. After that accidental consumption, I did a long 90 minute workout.

And I plan to do another long workout tomorrow. However so far there was not even any need of workout and keto was working

What will be the effect of this 60 gram carb snack? I’m curious to know. I have not seen any weight gain on the scale so far

There are a multitude of posts like this on the forum already, and every single time the advice is the same. Stop stressing and get back on track. It’s done. You can’t undo it. Let go and stop beating yourself up.

@Shortstuff couldn’t be more right. It’s just one snack, just a bunch of carbs and nothing that is going to wipe out all the hard work you’ve been doing for the past few weeks. It sounds cliche at first but something you’ll quickly come to embrace:

KCKO (Keep Calm and Keto On)

See it as a temporary thing, not even a mistake, just something you did. And it happened. And now you’ll eat bacon the next day and feel good again. The key is about consistency.

Don’t trust any labelling that has a “Low” prefix. :)

Agreed. If it’s labelled as low anything, that’s a clear sign that you need to look at what it’s actually high in - low fat most often means high sugars.

You won’t have to worry about reading labels if you don’t eat labelled food.

In the USA is always means, more sugar than you would ever dream possible in this. Sad but true.

Yes I’m learning that since talking to people on here. It’s shocking to me that even cream has additives like sugar in the US as here in the UK it is literally just pure cream made from milk.

I do this all the time. Often I don’t fall out of ketosis and nobody took my Keto card away. Onward and many of us do just fine if we are not using for oncology or epilepsy or addiction recovery or complex medical treatment.

I say we kick them out of the club for something like this.
