:( About Lack of Weight Loss

(grace) #1

Is ketogenic lifestyle ideal for someone wanting to lose 10-12 pounds only?

I am very active 62-year-old woman, 5’, weight 128-130 (was 136). I overeat and remain obsessed (always have) about food. Sometimes I can remain with IF only a couple days (just posted about this) otherwise I consume 2500+ calories. I feel like nothing has changed after the first two months (since Oct 2019) no matter what I do, as far as weight loss—amazing other benefits though.

Reality doesn’t always correspond with wishful thinking. Keto trends towards normal, not necessarily what you think is normal. Or wish it were.

No disrespect, Michael… I don’t understand what your answer is pertaining to. Does keto work for people who do not have a huge amount to lose?

Never mind. I get what you’re saying. My normal just might be 130.

You’ll have invisible healing happening so stick with it, it’s not all about weight loss.

too many calories?

How active is very active? What are you doing for activity specifically? Can your metabolism support constant 2500+ calorie days? Most wouldn’t be able to.

Apparently not and that’s most likely lack of weight. The industry I work calls for 7-days per week (12-15 hour on feet) and accountable 24-hours (every 8 weeks, 7-10 days respite); winter, no exercise.

Perhaps you are eating too many calories to actually lose weight as well – I would think 1500 would be more realistic at your height/age to actually lose is all. I am 5 foot 2 inches and 55 and I have a max that I eat at 1800 and I usually keep below that or I will not lose.
