A win for Garry Fettke

(ianrobo) #1

Great news for you @richard and all in Aus

Nina Teicholz @bigfatsurprise
Australia govt science body endorses low-carb as “scientifically proven” treatment for obesity and T2 diabetes. bit.ly/2lULA4E

Not only are they going with the science but the ruling against Gary Fettke now looks basically ruined. How can they deny him from using Keto to solve people’s health and stop cutting off limbs ?

We WILL WIN, it is only time that stops us, not big food or naysayers, the science is with us.

The current science along with very rapidly growing anecdotal evidence will prevail over corruption and willful ignorance. We just keep spreading the good news and support those who are seeking a better way.

Finally, yes!
But I’ve already noticed some definition re-interpretation going on. There is dietitian talk of low carb being about avoiding ‘stripped’ carbs. Seems to refer to processed, non-wholegrain carbs only.
So, some are redefining low carb to mean eating wholegrain carbs is ok, just avoid junk food. Still resisting putting more than a big toe in the water.

(Barbara Greenwood) #4

As frustrating as that is, cutting out sugar and refined grains will likely lead to significant improvement for many.

(ianrobo) #5

I would say for all even if you bring them down to 150g a day of carbs

(Barbara Greenwood) #6

Even our hero Tim Noakes says a certain proportion of people are able to tolerate a very high carb diet. The rest of us… carbs above our personal threshold = problems.

(ianrobo) #7

yes sure but as a general rule for majority of people, the amount of carbs now eaten and advised about harms health.

(Shannon Woollett) #8

CSIRO is Australia’s top science org and they also said Low Carb is the way of the future! I say, why wait for the future! Let’s get this party started now Australia!

Bloody Oath Shaza!!

(Shannon Woollett) #10

I consider myself blessed to have never had a sweet tooth! But that said I had v high carb based diet as per ADA and SAD. I can not imagine how hard it would be to give up cakes etc! High carb diet of pasta and bread damaging too but easier to give up or remodel! Bravo to all those trying! When u fall off the wagon, just begin again!

(Elizabeth) #11

I have friends trying this new CSIRO diet, the carbs side is good, but unfortunately it is also a low fat diet :frowning:

(Carol O'Carroll) #12

I’m finding a lot of the people I talk to are very fat resistant. Really hard to convince them, while at the same time they are not wanting to do their own research. Frustrating! Tips on how would be good…

(eat more) #14

that’s the primary way of the world now…minimal effort
ppl would rather just be told what they want to hear (regarding everything not just keto/health)
if they don’t want to do their own research they don’t really want the benefit/results

i have a client that 4 weeks ago she was on keto fire…yesterday she told me that she is now doing low carb/low fat because of her cholesterol and that is what everyone she has talked to has advised…
i told her that the research is out there on LCHF and cholesterol…she is either going to look it up or not…prob not
it’s a waste of your energy if you have to “convince” someone…
i just share what i’m doing and tell them that i’m happy to help if they have interest or questions

(ianrobo) #15

afraid not a win :frowning:

Thanks to @richard on his FB he has spread this awful news

and in effect they won by bullying him out and it appears Gary received little support from his peers, this road of ours is long and hard !

(ianrobo) #16

surprised not one mentioned the but great news for @nofructose !!

Cleared of all charges! @AHPRA notified me yesterday of their overturning of determination that #sugar & #LCHF advice to my patients was dangerous. Formal apology included. Opens door for all HCP’s to offer this as ‘safe’ options. all for your support.

Brilliant @richard
