A couple questions from a newb

Thank you for the advice on the fat! I am out of my stall now that I am getting much more fat in and also thank you so much for the mascarpone and chocolate idea! It’s sooooo good!

someone said that “salt pork” and pork belly are similar, and that Walmart carries salt pork in the meat cases in front of the sausage/hotdog area.

Also, if you really like coffee, putting heavy cream in it isn’t wasting your macros, really. I know you’re not getting other nutrition, but it could be a treat-y way to get your fat count up without having to do much work.

If you’re going to cook salt pork, make sure to rinse off all the salt before starting to cook! I didn’t know this and ended up with an over-salty mess.

Salt pork is mostly pure fat preserved in salt, whereas pork belly is more like fatty bacon.

Thank you for the heads up! I will have to check for this to see if the one by me has it. If not I found a couple butchers in the area that I am going to check with to see if they sell it. I will still drink coffee on the weekends as a treat now. The HWC usually has too many extra carbs and calories for me. Once I get more fat adapted I think I will be able to go back to drinking it more regularly.

Yes, it was heart-breaking. Too bad I didn’t check how to cook it first! :sob: :sob:
