now my question is if i eat the 2300 calories on a keto diet will i lose fat?
because my goal isnt losing wight my goal is to lose fat
A bit confused
Keto is not about calories, it’s a different paradigm.
Keep carbs <20g , protein around 75 and top up the rest with fat. Listen for when you’re hungry to eat. Don’t eat if you’re not hungry.
You will lose fat because your body will need to learn to use fat for fuel.
Probably you will still loose fat - my husband is insulin sensitive, 6’3", 160 pounds. He started going LCHF in February with me and he lost his visceral fat first (he had a small beer gut) and lost 15 pounds. He was losing too much till he discovered bulletproof coffee and now is getting enough fat calories to maintain. Now, I think he is 8-12% body fat.
No idea- everyone is different. Give it a try and see. Keto is n=1 meaning you have to test everything out yourself and see how it goes.
Would you eat that if you were full at 1900? (No.)
You might go over to be full.
If you listen to your body it will guide you. If you need to lose, you will.
Another point to keep in mind is the difference between weight and the different types of body mass. If you want to lose fat but keep your lean muscle mass the same, then of course you will lose weight; that’s inevitable.
But once you’re fat-adapted, you may find that your body uses all that abundant energy to build more muscle tissue. Since muscle is denser than fat, you might find your weight even increasing a bit, while your waist and other measurements decrease.
The key is to eat fat to satiety. That way your body will be able to heal from all the metabolic damage caused by less-healthy ways of eating and shape itself into what it was meant to be.
I don’t track macros - I eat till I am full. I have a good feeling for how many carbs I can eat and just limit them. I don’t really lose weight unless I am doing IF or EF. I’m down 60 pounds so far but have been dealing with a lot of stress lately and have stalled the last couple months. These last two months I have eaten as much as I needed (stress eater) but stayed keto and haven’t gained any weight. THAT is proof to me that I need to stay keto forever…
My philosophy as well ( not tracking). I have one meal most days, breakfast as well if I’m hungry. A piece of butter, cheese or creamed coffee if needed. I try at least one day a week to really push over satiety to make sure my bmr is not dropping.
