Something I “discovered” these last few days although I had read it repeatedly but didn’t really GET it: keep your salt and potassium intake up!
I’ve been dragging butt for the last few months, trying to get out there and build my fences, chainsaw trees, build foundations for various buildings and I’ve been struggling so hard to make myself do even a little work each day. I kinda blamed it on the heat, my inherent laziness, some depression maybe, lack of focus/indecision re where to put things, not being a self-starter etc etc.
So these last few days I’ve been making an absolute point of taking in 4 teaspoons of himalayan rock salt and a couple hundred mgs of potassium. I made sure to drink a boatload of water. Also, I increased my food intake. Yesterday I ate 2 thick pork chops for breakfast, a mushroom cheese omelette for lunch and a ribeye for dinner. Which was a lot more food than I usually eat. Haven’t eaten yet today (as of noon) but plan to.
Today I feel like a million bucks and did a bunch of work on the fence and am happier than heck. I don’t think decreasing my food intake all the time was good for my energy levels. Also: the electrolytes are key. Having energy is way more important to me at this point than being svelte. Although I wouldn’t mind being svelte. Or even just, like, less gelatinous. But not at the expense of having enough energy to do all the things I want to do.
Vis a vis my weight: I refuse to look. Lol. However, pants are no tighter and may be looser. Suspenders are in my future.
Thought I’d just throw this out there for people who are lacking energy on keto after months of this WOE.
Carry On!
