7 Day Fast- Bone Broth- Probiotics

(Mitch Myser) #1

Last Friday I started a fast. My first day was a water fast and I started taking 50 billion FCU Probiotics. Saturday, I’ve been doing probiotics once a day, bone broth with lemon and peppermint five times a day, and have been dealing with sharp pain in my colon.

I have a bunch of issues including IBS and too many food sensitivities. I started the keto diet a month back. But feel I needed to clean my system out.

Is it normal to have pain when taking probiotics? Is there anything I should do?

Did you do any kind of system cleanse before you started - either take a laxative or have an enema? Have you had a :poop: since you started? I’m not familiar with IBS and I’ve never had any issues with my probiotics so this is just a story based on my own experience, but I get sharp pains that are basically ‘just’ constipation when I fast if I don’t deal with what’s in there before I start. Makes me uncomfortable and cranky alright.

The very first day I did a salt water cleanse. The pain started after that and after I took probiotics.

 Sorry. I hope someone else has advice.

Maybe try natural Probiotic. I use home made sauerkraut. Cabbage and salt only. 4 weeks later - a delicious natural super probiotic loaded with lacto fermented goodness

Needs to be in an airtight container that can breath out. Proper lacto fermentation is anaerobic. If air gets in you get a nasty white scum on top. No big deal, you can just skim it off. In Germany they make it in big wooden buckets. No sealing. Just skim off the scum daily
