6 Weeks on Keto. First round of Brain Fog

#1

I have been following the Keto approach for six weeks now with great success. Today is the first day that I feel like I am experiencing Brain Fog. Having minor difficulty with tasks, feel frustrated, etc.

Why am I feeling this way now after six weeks? Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad, but I can tell. Any suggestions on how to be better prepared if this happens to me again?

I wish I had an answer. I remember feeling that sometime in the early stages too. It’s hard to tell what makes a difference because most of tweak our approach as we go along, adding supplements, or taking away certain foods that no longer work.
Make sure you are getting adequate calories and water. Others will probably have more insight. As always, hang in there. You got this!

No obvious scientific answer: could be a range of things. My advice is to keep calm, keto on, and monitor.

Brain fog sounds like a lack of ketones that maybe your brain is now used to? Have you been monitoring ketone levels? Any stress? Any carbs crept in?

There are plenty of physical changes that happen in the body as you go through this process, so there may be the odd side effect or 2.

Stay at it. You know it makes sense.

Thanks everyone. Today is a little better. I went out if my way to eat early this morning before work. I think that helped some. I haven’t been hungry in the morning and had been pretty much skipping breakfast. It’s really hard to eat when I’m not hungry though.

Just wanted to give a quick update. The brain fog feeling I was having went away after I consciously upped my food/calorie intake. The feeling hasn’t come back and as a bonus, I’ve lost a few more pounds. I must have just been stuck on a little plateau there for a short while and I seem to now be back on track.

Thanks as always for your guidance through this journey.
