5th week Carnivore since Ketofest. No weight Loss! What gives?

Hey guys, first time posting here and i’m looking to the group for a little advice.

My fiance and I came back from Ketofest fired up to jump into the carnivore diet but after 28 straight days we are not seeing the needle move. I should tee this up by saying we have been practicing Keto for almost 4 years now. I have personally lost over 70 pounds and Danna has her own amazing loss too.
I have recently added 15 pounds back on- mostly by eating Danna’s big “Seinfeld” salads, These are low,low carb made up of kale and romaine as the primary greens, 1/4 C or less of nuts, some cheese and 4-5 oz of protein, olive oil and vinegar. Yes, this sounds crazy but this gain was in about a 2 week period of time. Our logical course of action was to cut out all extra carbs and dive head-first into Carnivore.

Over the years, we’ve read the books, listened to the podcasts and know the rules and have adhered to them all the way through this. We have 5-6 oz of protein for lunch and maybe 12-14 oz of protein for dinner. We like ribeyes but have had pork, chicken, lamb etc… Fat is within the meat plus a Tablespoon or more of Kerrygold butter to cook it.
I will say that the side effects were minimal. i had a killer Carnivore flu around day 3 but realized that i had to drink down at least 3 or more electrolyte drinks which greatly helped. Yes, i had bathroom issues but that has since normalized. We both have blood ketones in the .5- 2.0 range and our blood sugar is normal at 75-115 +/-.

Its awfully hot here in Dallas putting our walking regimen on hold however i have started swimming at our pool the last couple of days, Not a lot of energy output here but then i lost the majority of my 70 without a lot of exercise;Danna did too.

SOOO- NO WEIGHT LOSS! WHAT GIVES??

I’ve heard quite few people say that they put on weight at first when they went carnivore but that the scale started moving down again eventually. Some of them had been chronic dieters who had a fair bit of healing to do & some just put it down to the fact that they ate more because they enjoyed it so much but their appetites eventually adjusted downward again. I’d wager a guess that just about any major change in diet can throw the body for a loop & when you add in the heat (possible fluid retention?) & the lack of your usual walking it may just be a matter of giving it a little more time.

I’m pretty sure there is a dedicated carnivore sub in the food section - might be worth posting there.

Your fat macro may be too high. Aim for 60 percent.

…Just my two cents:

Way too much protein if you are trying to burn fat\ lose weight?

Tips:

  1. Amount of protein per meal? I would try reducing that down to 3 or 4 oz. of protein per meal? (…and adding more fish to the menu)

  2. Amount of protein intake per meal adjusted to your individualized lean body mass?

  3. Always adjust or re-adjust fat and protein intake ratios if you are not burning your own body fat!

Me myself, I only eat once a day!
