Since being fairly new to keto, this is something that I hadn’t seen or read before and thought I’d share. I did do a search of the film in this forum and there is a post with link to YouTube from earlier last year.
40 tsps of sugar a day
Have you watched it yet? I don’t have time to watch right now, but I am looking forward to seeing the results and the information. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, I just watched it tonight. It’s definitely something I want to watch again. It’s very enlightening…light bulbs kept going off in my head throughout the film. I can’t recommend it enough.
If you have the time, I highly recommend you watch it. It does reiterate a lot of what is discussed in this forum, but it also puts a lot of things into perspective.
I did watch the YouTube as well. Didn’t realize some of the things that are not considered sweet that have added sugar. Cookies, juice, baked goods, that’s obvious, but tuna??

Yes, it was pretty surprising that he stayed away from junk food and only ate foods that were marketed as being “healthy” and yet he was on his way to developing heart disease and TD2 in the matter of 60 days. That’s insane!
WOW! 3 kgs in 12 days and 18 days to fatty liver! That’s astonishing.
There’s almost a visual parallel between sugar and fatty liver and cigarettes and black lungs.
I watched this a couple of years back and cut out the sugar but it didn’t last until I started keto, and I have discovered my brain associates sugar with carbs and vice versa. So no sugar for me at all. Even xylitol isn’t safe because then i fight cravings. So, nothing for now. I am a newbie with keto (7days today) but sugar, eish that thing is a killer!
You are welcome. Hope you get to watch it. It’s pretty good. I watched it again last night, but this time with the family. Now they’re all on board with cutting back on their sugar intake.
I agree. There’s a point in the film when they said studies have shown that rats work harder trying to get sugar than they do cocaine…that blew my mind!
For many xylitol pretty much gets metabolized like 1/2 sugar. It’s a terrible sweetener for keto.
