30 day personal challenge

After a few weeks of going up and down the same 6lbs, (I know what I’m doing wrong)… I want to go back to keto basics and restart myself, and also incorporate some light weight lifting. I think at some point we all reach a moment when we become comfortable and stop really noticing or noting down our food intake. At the beginning it was getting easy for me to loose weight, learning the keto lifestyle and absorbing all the wonderful benefits. Had a few over carb hiccups in the beginning but nothing since then and I’m entering my 6 months of keto. But since I started on this journey being a food addict, I’ve seen myself doing the same thing with keto. I may not be hungry but I still eat out of boredom. Already hit my calories and macros for the day… but I’ll still eat… not sure when it started since I felt pretty much in control in the beginning but I have to reassess this before it too gets out of hand. The only difference with keto is that, I burn it off faster than if I were to be consuming crappy food and carbs. For now I’m giving up HWC, any type of keto approved berries, (I love berries), cinnamon because I feel like it has a trigger for me, and bacon. Yes bacon. I’ll use the bacon nectar to cook my other protein but the bacon needs to be left behind for a bit, and cheeses. If any of the forum experts have any helpful suggestions would appreciated but other than that this was more like my personal accountability post. KCKO everyone!

One thing I love about this diet is that I can trust my appetite. Mostly.

I found that I can overeat dairy. Especially cream and cheese. Especially really delicious aged cheese.

Appetite can be a good litmus test though, just know what you are able to overeat and what you aren’t.

For myself, I can overeat dairy, but not meat. If I want to know whether I’m actually hungry or just want something delicious (anyone else have Paradiso cheese where they live?), I ask myself if I could eat something I am not wont to overeat, like meat. If I couldn’t eat another bit of meat, I’m not hungry. If I do feel like i could eat more meat, well I just eat more meat if I can, since I consider meat more healthful than cheese.

Making sure to eat enough helps too, and personally, i find OMAD helps me avoid overeating.

Yeah, I think I too have been doing too much dairy and not enough meats/fish/fowl perhaps. Even eggs started to get boring so I started grabbing the occasional pepperoni which became not so occasional. I’m just taking a step back right now and see how it goes. I was doing OMAD, IF, going very well I think that’s when I lost most of the weight but then I’ve become too complacent. A reset is just what I need. I think.
