3 day fast and I gain 2 lbs

#1

I have been adding a 48-72 hour fast to my routine a few times a month. The last one I did I gained 2 lbs without eating!

What is wrong with my body? Most people lose 5-8 lbs doing this! This was during not after I started eating!

I am not sure but my body goes back to the set point no matter what! Back to same weight! I wear a size 28 or 8 and I’m happy with the way I look but I want to lose 6 more lbs just so my jeans feel comfy and I’m looking to have more muscle and less fat! Why is this happening?!

Is my body trying to tell me this is where you are supposed to be?! I used to try half this hard only a few years ago and be down these extra 6 lbs. I don’t know why but it’s like freaky I cut down to once a day eating, I do long fasts and nothing. Mind you I work out almost daily and do variety and I don’t eat much dairy and I’m practically carnivore in my diet. Sighs!

Any suggestions at this point?! Should I just focus on nonscale victories at this point?!

I’m mostly carnivore, OMAD as well, and have been doing a lot of self experimenting lately. Since you work out that often, it might be water or muscle. Give yourself a few consecutive rest days that align with your extended fasting schedule, the weight will drop.

last week I jumped up 7.5 lbs in the days before my period started (those 7.5 lbs came off after a few days). Hormones do crazy things, don’t overthink it. You certainly got benefit from your fast, and you’ll see it eventually.

When I did my first 24 hour fast, I gained 3 pounds and was very upset.

I think because you are doing exercise, that yours might be turning fat into muscle? which weighs more, or just water retention.

Yes I’m not sure about why this happens but I hate not exercising so it’s hard. Why can’t it just be calories in and calories out and that simple lol.

Haha I am the opposite, I reallllly hate exercising… I am hoping/assuming as I lose a lot of weight this will change. =)
