2Ketodudes Podcast Taking a Long Break

(jcshrunked) #1

17 minute episode. Carl, Richard and Carrie talking about a Loooong Break. It sounded like a goodbye. And now am sad. But happy for them. They helped me get focused on Keto and I took up Coding class bec of Carl and Richard. I bought Ice Cream maker bec of Carrie. I listened to them almost everyday for months. Even my 5 yr old daughter yells “KetoDudes!” When she hears ‘em.

This is exactly how it felt on last episode of Friends. :sob:

Thanks for the update @johncarlo. I’ll have to listen to that later, (leaving for a bike ride). I’ve been expecting this. They’ve been coming across as running out of steam and not knowing what to do next.

Too bad. I used to recommend them to everyone.

Hopefully the forum will continue. I confess, I am not a podcast listener. I would rather read things in text form rather than listen to something for 30 minutes.

The forum is a useful place for me, though.

(Bob M) #4

The only reason I listen to podcasts is because of my 30 minute trip into or from work. Otherwise, I agree with you. I read much, much faster than having to sit through a podcast.

yea it is over as we knew it.

times change and if new info on nutrition hits the world they will be there to chat it out.

Thanks for posting. Now we know.

It’s been a great run. Their podcasts was one of the first resources I found 2 years ago when I started keto. I binge listened to all the back episodes and made it to Ketofest in 2018. If the podcast is over, I hope Carl knows how much impact he has had!

I have already moved on as I have already gone through all of the 2KD podcasts from start to finish. I don’t mean this in a snippy way at all. Call me a geek by I feel like I am getting an education listening to keto related podcasts while I run in the mornings. I really miss @richard because of his humor. I can’t tell you how many times I have been running down the road and broke out in laughter. Anyway I have started on Ket Naturopath. It is a bit dry but it gives me something to listen to in the morning. I will always value the information that I have gained via the 2KD podcasts and recommend them to anyone seeking a better understanding of keto WOE.
Will I miss @carl, Carrie and Richard, yes. Am I bitter no, they have given so much and this is not the only thing they do. Take a bow guys!

Good news though. They said that the podcasts will always be accessible. So we can continue to share to our friends. :+1:t3:

Also, they had/have some really great recipes in there, too. Hmmm…I can’t seem to get to this now, but I thought this one was great:

Weird, I wonder why my iTunes app didn’t automatically get this new episode…

I’ve been noticing that it had not updated since around Thanksgiving but just chalked it up to holidays etc.

(jcshrunked) #11

I used Spotify on this one. :+1:t3:

Damn you my country, spotify isn’t available :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

For anyone who couldn’t access the episode, Carl has a new job that requires him to travel a lot and it sounds like except for some announcements here and there 2 Keto Dudes will not be uploading podcasts regularly anymore. Sounds like Richard is going to handle keeping the forum running though; thanks Richard!! I am mourning the end of an era. This is me listening to 2KD:

Thank you for letting us know, @JohnCarlo =).

I love the forum so I really hope that it will keep running. I understand them running out of topics and being really busy so not doing the Podcasts anymore (thank you for doing them when you did, the 3 of you!) but the forum is so wonderful to me, I would cry (literally in real life) if it closed down.

Thank you @richard for keeping the forum going. Big hugs to all of you awesome people!

(Scott) #15

I always intended to make it to a ketofest so I am wondering what the future holds for those as well. Time will tell I suppose.

(KCKO, KCFO) #16

^^^^ A 100x this.

The forums are my internet “home.” Hopefully as long as we all post and people still do patreon accounts, it should continue.

AFAIK, Daisy will continue with KetoWoman podcasts. No announcements over on KKB fb page. I just posted there asking if this will effect her podcasting.

Planning Ketofests has to be an incredible time sucker.

Edited for grammar.

Hi all.

Yes we have real jobs, the podcast was just a hobby that we funded from our day jobs, that ended up taking over our day jobs. In my case I went back to uni to do a PhD in biochemistry, and that became my new day job. Carl neglected his software development career, he had to get back to that. Carrie is working on her next cookbook, and her keto coaching classes with Kim.

To be honest we’ve said most of the important things to be said about ketogenic diets, spoken to a lot of the experts, tried most of the ways of eating and cooking ketogenic fare … it’s now up to you guys to go find 2 more type 2 diabetics and switch them onto a ketogenic diet as a way to treat their disease. And when you do, the first episode of the podcast will be there waiting for them - because that content really is evergreen. Human biochemistry really hasn’t changed in the past 3 years, and what we thought we knew back then about a ketogenic diet to treat T2DM, we now know with even more clarity and precision. The science just keeps further supporting ketogenic diets as a treatment for T2DM.

Jules and I will be taking financial responsibility for the forum. As you probably know it has been slow for the past year - that is because it is due a dedicated server upgrade, which will cost real money. I’ll create a patreon specifically for just the forum alone if people want to help out that would be gratefully appreciated.

Will share more details once that is up and running.

(KCKO, KCFO) #19

Thanks Richard for the update…

Will our current patreon payments get converted over to the forums only? Or will we need to cancel current and resign up for the forums only?

I just chatted with Daisy and I know she is continuing on, has paid the bills for it for the last year. So KetoWoman will live on.

Thank you @richard @carl @CarrieBrown for creating such a great resource for people who have the need or desire to use it. I bet you’ve saved thousands of lives, prevented the amputation of thousands of limbs, and helped give quality of life, wellness, and mobility back to a similar number. :pray:t2:
