So i started keto july 31st and im happy to say that im 16 lbs lighter and everyone seems to notice my weight loss I have a long way to go but I have faith I’ll get where I need to be… I work out twice a day 5 days a week but I see most of my weight loss on my days off is my weight lifting and heavy cardio even helping???
2 weeks in!
Wow, 16 lbs in two weeks. That’s amazing. As for the exercising, in my experience, anything more than moderate walking and an occasional game of tennis slows my weight loss. Others may have different results.
I just broke through a 3-week wall. It happens to me now and then but I don’t let it freak me out anymore. You’re doing great, KCKO
Oh my gosh. The difference between men and women… I started July 31st and I’ve lost 1 pound (but a total of 6 inches all over).
Congrats on sticking with it!
Congratulations, Matt ! That’s great . For your workout, it’s normal to see weight loss on your days off. Fat loss occurs at rest and when you sleep.
@MelTar, your experience with exercising is typical for women. When we exercise, it interacts with our hormones. For men, it’s different. My little brother goes to the gym every day for 2.5 hours and he’s feeling great. If I do the same, my metabolism will slow down and my body will give me hell .
@ketocutiepie, I know it’s so unfair. But you made amazing progress. 6 inches is really great. It means you’re losing fat. Congratulations .
First, @Bossink505, congrats on the great start and the 16 lbs! That’s awesome.
Hm, without knowing exactly what you mean by working out, this seems excessive to me.

I’d strongly consider dialing back the exercise, master the diet at this point, and work up to more physical activity. As @carl put it well on the podcast several times, there comes a point in Keto where you simply “HAVE” to start moving and work out. You’ll know it when you feel it.
Thanks i do about 2 hours of heavy weigh training in the morning and about 2500 meters in the pool every night
The most important question is : how do you feel ?
I think if it’s too much, your body will tell you. You just have to listen to it.
I’ve heard a lot about converting fat to muscle when on keto. But yesterday I heard that also there is rebuilding of bone. I never thought of that but it makes sense. Muscle and bone are heavier and denser than fat and the conversion might not show in the scales. It will show in the inches though.

@Bossink505 I started around the same time and am also new to the forum. Down 10.2 lbs so far (not quite your 18!) but feeling good and finding this to be much easier to sustain than almost any other “diet” I’ve tried. No cravings, very little hunger, and no need to live by the thought of my next cheat meal!
