It’s great to see some local stories about Keto and Fasting. I especially like that Intermountain Healthcare is doing a study on IF. They have a great reputation as a world class health care organization.

Every little helps… but this could be bigger… an early domino in the ketogenic destruction of the conventional wisdom?

Hopefully they come out in favor. There are those studies designed to refute something like keto :scream:

Long lecture through Olli yesterday with my box lunch. Touted Low saturated fat, and low red meat, caution on carnitine, high veg. Mediterranean diet for longevity and cognitive function. Mainly talk about improving and protecting your gut biome.

And again with carnitine and heart disease

I’ve still yet to see anything convincing beyond typically confounded associational studies about the Mediterranean ‘diet’. Everyone seems to pick a different flavor of the diet to push their own agenda (low fat, high fat, low carb, high carb, etc.). There’s clearly something there but exactly what it is is unclear. We did find out that the Okinawans were probably benefitting from super low fat… what is it for these folks?

I hope Aseem Malhotra’s study of the folks from Pioppi will deliver more clarity BUT he still hasn’t responded to my proposal that we take the whole village population and force feed them various macros and then dissect them for science. I know it’s brutal but it’s for SCIENCE! :flushed::nerd_face::hocho::man_scientist:
