2 keto dudes podcast

(Tracy Harding) #1

Was listening to The Salt Fix while I shopped in SAMs club. So much info and I hash to listen to this again. I’m a cardiac and oncology nurse and I’m learning that everything I ever knew is changed when in the context of eating very low carb and barely any processed foods.
Anyone else feel like a student all over again?

I know what you mean Tracy, I had to replay it multiple times myself … and I was in the room

The Salt Fix episode was jam packed with info. Made me realize If anything I was probably supplementing too little salt while fasting. Also the bit about how much salt helps kidney function was a real gem.

(KCKO, KCFO 🥥) #4

It quickly became my favorite podcast, of all the fasting oriented ones.

Many thanks to Richard and Carl for finding this valuable information for us all.

I’m definitely not getting enough salt. Especially since I still get horrible night cramps. But I’m glad that I have a better idea now how much I should get.

(James storie) #6

I uped my salt since that episode and stopped taking my magnesium! Less cramps! Actually, almost none! I also try to just use pink salt because I like it better

(matt ) #7

That cast blew my brains out. Life changing.

(KB Keto) #8

I like my salt from my keto margarita glass.

I purchased the book last week and have been reading it. I’m barely half way through, but It is a great read, especially with the historical information on how salt became an enemy. I wish there was more accountability where it counts in medicine, it seems like if you are trying to push the envelope and reveal truth (CICO, Saturated Fats, Cholesterol, Lo-Carb, Salt) , it is a struggle. Luckily the truth is coming out and the FUD is being quelled.

This really makes me question everything we think we know as established fact, this is why Show me the Science is so important.

Totally!! I absolutely consider myself a new learner in this arena, and I’m in the medical world as well. There are several olive oil tasting rooms in my neck of the woods and most of them also have salts. I love the fact that I could go oil and salt tasting and call it a healthy lunch. So liberating! In fact, Ima gonna do that tomorrow.

(What The Fast?!) #11

What do you taste the oil with without bread for dipping? Do you just eat it by itself?

#12

You get tiny cups, like for samples at the froyo place. Little shots of oil.

(LUCAS KRAUSE) #13

We have these too, they give you a tiny shot-glass (plastic) smaller than a Dixie cup.
I suggest trying the “robusto” oils, they really have some dynamic strong tastes, but it is interesting none-the-less.

There is plenty of taste with the oil by itself.

I came across the olive oil “industry” and other things like cheese, in this book.

#14

Yea, I’ll never buy olive oil in a store again. These oils are all pure and local.

(Lauren ) #15

What is the Podcast? Could us newbies get a link?? Thanks

(Lauren ) #16

Oh…it’s called ‘2 Keto Dudes’! Found it. Please ignore me. Being blonde!

I immediately bought that audio book when that podcast finished and went through it in 2 days, my salt intake was already higher than normal, it was at keto normal, now it’s even a little higher. My energy levels are up and although I have no clue how this is connected, since upping my intake again I stop and pee less during the day (I’m a truck driver) so thats awesome.

(Stacie Kouskouris) #18

I have listened to this podcast multiple times and have read the book from front to back- TWICE! Not only do I feel like a student, I feel angry that I have educated my past cardiac patients about the so- called dangers of salt!
