So sorry everyone, I am ADHD but can’t take meds because it would raise my bp, so I’m on my own, and my doctor wants me on bp meds for bp of only 130/80 I said no thank you, the side effects are insane, and the doctor is against me doing keto, so I told him I will go at this on my own, I wake up with heart palpitations but it goes away after I get some sea salt in me and take my magnesium malate. I quit drinking water about 3 hours before bed so my bph doesn’t keep me up peeing all night, I just need to get some stinging nettle to shrink my prostate
1st month in, a little frustrated
I know calories 800 or lower can cause all kinds of problems like gallbladder stones
Yes, I thought so, but when I go in to the doctor it’s more like 140/90. But that’s because of white coat, just nervous
I’m sixty and recently visited my new cardiologist, at a really good hospital. The nurse checked me in at 145/90, which nearly caused me to stroke out on the spot. She announced my blood pressure was too high. I announced that I had been stuck in their stupid elevator for five minutes! When the doctor came in she told him my blood pressure was too high and he shrugged her off, saying “it’s not high for her age.” I just love the for my age crap. Anyway, when I go to the dentist they take my bp lying down in the dental chair and last visit it was 120/70. That was after eight weeks on Keto. I should probably own a blood pressure cuff, but my new blood glucose monitor is adding enough excitement to my life. I don’t need more!
There is a “new notice” on the blood pressure machines at the grocery stores that announce the American Heart Association has lowered the numbers they believe is now “high blood pressure” by 10 points on both numbers.
Can you say “Pharma has the AHA in their back pockets???”
I heard that. Screw em….I firmly believe keto will (and maybe has already) lower my blood pressure. Though I’ve read somewhere else that the opposing view is that older people’s blood pressure naturally rises so as to pump an adequate amount of blood to the brain.
I heard that that happened with cholesterol levels about 20yrs back as well. Now a lot more people are on statins.
The more people find out I’m on Keto, they more I hear people say they can’t eat meat or fats due to high cholesterol.
George Mann, when he studied the Maasai in the 1960’s, found that among the warriors who continued to eat the traditional diet of blood, milk, and meat, the blood pressures of all the old men were in the same range as the blood pressures of the young men. That was the first time that medical researchers realized that blood pressure does not necessarily have to rise with age.
