I’m worried about the food on my flight to the UK so decided to fast (not really difficult as I would be asleep anyway). But found these snacks just in case.
13 hour flight!
I wanted to get The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living" by Phinney and Volek but it wasn’t an audio book. So I got The case against sugar by Gary Taubes.
You might look at podcasts for the return flight, they are free and there are a ton of good keto podcasts out there, none better than our very own 2ketodudes productions though.
I already have the lastest one downloaded. I’m looking forward to listening to it as my husband and daughter both eat carbs. They have cut down a lot since I started last August.
I’m not sure that it is really that good for my husband because he is a marathon runner and last Saturday night there were just the two of us home for dinner and in hindsight it was a meal with very little carbs. Then on Sunday he ran a half marathon race and with about 1 km to go hit the wall. He slowed right down and was very disappointed with his performance.
He is very supportive of my WOE and even offered to fast with me when I return from the UK but he is quite thin and I don’t think he has enough fat to fast for long.
I just did 2 flights yesterday - one 2.5 hours and one for 6 hours - with a 6 hour layover in between. I fasted on the first flight, spent the layover at Heathrow, where I got a steak and salad at a restaurant, then went to a lounge and had some cheese and a few nuts. One the second flight I fasted, and also on the 2 hour ride home. Didn’t eat until the morning. It had challenging moments, but it was easier than I thought it would be. It’s good to always have that option.
