Saw this on Yahoo today…The T2D people on this study must have had a horrible time. Basically starvation since it was ~850 calories per day. They said 1/5 of the participants dropped out, and for good reason.

I mean…1/4 of a potato…for dinner? Ouch…

Its the latest report on the infamous Newcastle Diet. This is the third study of severe calorie restriction (this time with very specific criteria for inclusion) But they still only managed 46% remission. I’m afraid after listening to Prof Taylor yesterday he is of the mindset that eat less move more is the key to reversing Type 2… luckily we know better…

Was on tv at our hotel. I laughed out loud. Sample breakfast was avocado and a small lump of tuna. Everyone loves tuna at brekkie don’t they???

Tuna’s fine, if you put enough cheese and bacon on it!

BTW, in my part of the U.S., you can’t get it packed in oil anymore, only in water. From the keto point of view, is that a good or a bad thing?

I would think that’s a good thing. You can always add oil of your own choice. Our tuna often used to come with “healthy” vegetable oil, but rarely with good olive oil.

Point—and a good one!

I happened to catch the show this morning, rare as I don’t often turn on the boob tube. Just when you think mainstream media might be getting a clue… no. Just no.

Bad thing. I personally like kippers and other fish for breakfast but most can not face fish first thing in the morning.

It is a low fat diet that is high in low GI foods. Too low cal. Too follow long term.
