10 days of Keto

(Vegoketo) #1

Hello lovely people,

I posted 11 days ago about having survived my first day on Keto.

Happy to report that I am on my 11th day today. Woohoo.

I am struggling a bit today. PMSing and I am ravenous despite already consuming 1700 Calories and hitting my macros. :sob: Please tell me I am not the only who goes through this in the early stages of keto? Please?

Cheers,
N

Your body is still adapting, obey your hunger but keep it keto.

It takes 6 to 8 weeks to become fat adapted so your body is in the process of learning how to use its new fuel supply So Don’t worry about calories in the beginning

To help with cravings try one of the following

A pinch of Salt on your tongue once dissolved chase with a 8 oz. glass of your preferred LC drink.

1 oz keto snack - cheese, nuts, salami, peperoni with a 8 oz. glass of your preferred LC drink

Sugar free Gum and a 8 oz. glass of your preferred LC drink

After trying one wait 15 - 30 minutes if you are still hungry either try again or have small keto meal.

KCKO (Keep Calm Keto On)

“May the Force (fat adaption) be with you”

IF/EF Keto WOE is Self-Discovery

Good luck and much success in your journey in IF/EF Keto WOE

Of course you’re not the only one! Keep eating, you’re doing great.

So during pms I get cranky and my wants of foods isn’t the ideal one. I don’t loose weight ether during this time but don’t really gain ether. I still stick to keto but I have some Atkins chocolate or a small piece of lower carb chocolate . Otherwise I’m fine. Our bodies are stupid like that … Playing tricks on us … Good news is … Day after your period ends you will be back to feeling full/not hungry again

Also I find the day after my period I’ll randomly loose 2-4lp and it stays like that or keeps dropping until my next pms cycle… It’s like a race against my own body to loose as much as possible before my next pms lolol

Thank you for the assurance. Appreciate your reply and it’s good to know all is not lost.

I’ve been on a clean eating lifestyle down while but with a decent calorie deficit and it was non-keto. Going up with Calories meant eating more carby things and a major shoot in weight.

Also my body is not used to so much fat consumption and I got worried about a nasty weight gain during PMS.

Thank you for the encouragement!

Wow! That’s brilliant! Thank you for a detailed and informative response.

I will respect that fact that the body is changing for the better. Thank you

In the beginning, I had to find alternate ways to curb the cravings that were keto friendly. My periods would consist of Lily’s chocolate chips, pork rinds dipped in sour cream, and plenty of diet root beer. Just keep it keto, and press on. You’ll probably always notice an uptick in hunger when you’re PMSing, but it’s all good. It’ll get easier.

I eat the whole kitchen for two days before my period starts. It’s all Keto though. The day I get my period my bottomless pit feeling ends abruptly. So every month I heed that temporary urge to eat all the bacon & buttered pork rinds without regard to calories. Unlike when I ate carbage, the cravings actually do end.

Thanks, Liz. It’s encouraging to know it’s onah to not mind calories so much as long as it’s keto.
