Sandor,
Welcome to the forum! To help us better understand your question, tell us more about what "eating keto” means to you. Please be as specific as possible. Recap yesterday’s menu, or multiple days, if you wish. The more you tell us, the better we may help you.
Thank you in advance! I do intermittent fasting for two weeks now, my basic meal plan is from sausage, bacon, cucumber, tomato, cheese, cheese cream, mascarpone, and some nuts. Can it be some hormonic issue cause im still in the adapting phase? Or it is too much meal and nuts in my plan? I lost 2kg of body water and 2kg of.body mass. maybe some testosterone issue?
If that is working with Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (which it looks like it is), that is a very inaccurate method of measuring body composition when switching from another diet to the keto diet.
As you can see from the link below, BIA measurements depend on determining how much water the body has and then making a guess at the amount of fat. In the beginning of keto, the amount of water stored by the body changes a lot – making it look like a bunch of muscle fell off of you (it did not).
If this is a BIA machine, you have to have a consistent diet and be careful that you have consistent hydration levels to really measure fat mass changes well.
I worked in a medical lab for 10 years, I have seen all sorts of medical measuring equipment and devices, unless it’s proper lab or hospital grade equipment you can safely ignore anything you see!
Granted, I use a domestic grade ketone measuring device and Fitbit watch with heart rate etcetera - BUT - I know they are only vague.
Your mobile phone or smart watch measures food steps. Really? They can be off by 1000.
Body composition requires expensive test equipment, sorry but the consumer grade devices are not accurate.
Meantime make sure you are doing the keto diet properly you should not lose any muscle or bone density only fat.
Cheers.
Funny, I didn’t see your images that I now see. Nuts are a known gremlin for we low-carbers. However, I’m with @RobC and @alex99 on not relying on Bioelectrical impedance for fat measurement.
What about your waist? Are you measuring this?
Of course i do, went down abour 1cm, my belly fat is kinda stubborn, from my 10kg of body fat there is 6 on my tunk. However, i dk urinalysis every moning, and my ketones according to the urine test strips around 1.5-1.8 mmo/l what is normal i beleive
You’ll find a strong consensus, here, that those pee strips are useless for our purposes.
