What is considered too much protein?

Todd, the scale shows you weighing 5 lbs less after the bath?

(Ron) #23

The un-scientific answer is this calculator…but keep in mind it is just a generalization. I just use it as a tracking means.

I do hot baths as a form a therapeutic heat stress since I don’t have easy/cheap access to a sauna. So typically I drop around 5 lbs, sometimes less, rarely more than 8. The scale appears to have good consistency and accuracy for weight but clearly isn’t actually measuring fat vs water and muscle. I’d be willing to bet that it over rates the body fat % for very muscular men and would probably report body fat going up or down when glycogen goes up or down.

I don’t know that all of these sorts of scales work this way, but I expect it is true for any that want to know your age. Age should have no impact on a measured body fat %.

I think that is what my scale uses, a generalized formula based on statistics. It measures weight well but the rest is calculated not measured.

:slightly_smiling_face::sunglasses::+1: Dude that’s a serious bath!

I’ve been doing it nightly for almost 2 years. I’ve gradually upped the heat and time as my tolerance increased. I think it has been almost as helpful as going keto and weight training for reversing my muscle wasting.

Apologies if the following has already been posted. I prefer to compare what I see in the mirror to sample photos or drawings of people with verified body fat percentage. I can ask, which one of these physiques do I resemble the most. The link below is too a google search page that should display a bunch of the drawings and photos offered for this purpose. I bet they are reliable to less than 10% for most everybody.
