What dinner meals do you make the most frequently?

(charlie3) #26

Gigantic green leafy salad with onion plus an avacado, 6 oz of meat, 1/2 cup of olive oil and vinegar dressing with lite salt, mustard, parsly, oregano, basil etc.

I take a picture of most of these salads. I don’t know why. Below is the one I’m eating at this moment, chewing as I type.

This reminds me of Haluski. I was quite fond of it and would have it fairly regularly until I started Keto. It was either cabbage, noodles and bacon or cabbage, noodles and kielbasa.

  • Lemon/butter chicken and salad
  • Carne asada with broccoli (with cheese on top)
  • Carnitas tacos (Romaine leafs used as taco shells)
  • Ground beef tacos (romaine leafs used as taco shells
  • Cheeseburgers with a keto friendly homemade bun
  • Chile verde on cauliflower rice

Cheese! Cheese & some combination of salad, olives, avocado, seed crackers & mayo…

Hmm, I guess hamburgers is my most frequent meal at dinner followed by roasted chicken. Sometimes I eat a vegetable dosed in butter. I love spaghetti squash with homemade meatballs and sauce, but don’t eat that very often.
I love my eggs and bacon and have that pretty often for one of my meals.
I like to eat bone broth as often as I can too. I have some on right now.
Love steak and pork and lamb and eat those as frequently as I can afford them.

Do I need to tweak something? Update answer was Yes

Boring keto for me. I will attempt to attach screen shots of my figures for last week, which will include all my meals -

Hope it comes out alright!

(less is more, more or less) #34

I don’t recall eating haluski, though, as you write, this seems verboten without significant modification?

And that name reminds me of one of my favorite dishes of hers, Halupkies. Delicious and fun to pronounce. We also called them “piggies in a blanket” which might have been a NE PA / USA thing, but that also refers to a distinctly different dish, elsewhere.

The "without the carbs” is a LIE, since a serving is 10 grams of total carbs. They are a tad carby, though, well worth a OMAD strategy for.

(Carl Keller) #35

You have just given me an idea for how to modify this without the Keto police being summoned. Instead of noodles, I can just sub it for zoodles(zuchinni noodles). So saute some cabbage… then saute some kielbasa and cut that up into coins, then add it all to some zoodles with a generous dose of grass fed butter.I have yet to try zoodles so I wonder if this will all just turn to mush if cooked for very long?

Halupkies are what I know as stuffed cabbage. It was probably in my top 3 favorite dishes and I will definitely try this version with riced cauliflower sub’d out for the rice. Thanks for bringing this up!

Ground beef with bacon and cheese
Steak
Chicken with bacon and cheese
Bacon and eggs
Sometimes a shrimp salad, but I really have to be in the mood for a salad
Bunless hotdogs or kielbasa

I try new things sometimes, but I rarely like it lol. Tried zoodles Sunday. Wasn’t a fan.

(Jane) #37

How did you season them? First time I fixed them I was “meh” but then sprinkled some curry powder on the next batch plus sautéed some onion and garlic in butter and added it to the mix and loved them.

(Running from stupidity) #38

Zoodles can be good, but spiralised Daikon noodes are KILLER.

(Daisy) #39

I used Alfredo sauce and kielbasa with it. I’m just not really a big fan of zucchini, so I had a feeling I wouldn’t love it. But wanted to give it a try.

(Daisy) #40

Hmmm, I’ve never liked radishes… Maybe I’ll give it a try someday. I’m a horribly picky eater! Lol

#41

I call it meat porridge.
Brown a pound of 73/27 ground beef. Toss in a stick or so of butter and a cup of hwc. Add a generous portion of parmesan from the green canister. Add salt. Mix until the temperature comes back up and everything is emulsified. Enjoy.

Reading that just made my mouth water. I’m going to have to try making it!

(Pete A) #43

Baked Italian Sausage
1/2 rotiserie chicken
6 oz beef or ground beef
6 oz turkey burger (with added fat)
Pork Ribs
Country Ham
Lamb Shoulder
Salmon

(Carpe salata!) #44

I bought some Italian sausage the other day. Tell me how you bake them - temp & time and I’ll try it out tomorrow.

(Pete A) #45

I buy Hillshire Farms hot mostly which is 5 links, 2 meals, 6 oz each. I bake it at 400 for about 30 minutes. It has the most glorious orange fat, which I often will use when cooking something else… 7 carbs.

ENJOY!
