Weight Vests

Walked to a different place with the vest yesterday early evening. It’s interesting that the ‘body’ portion of it is getting so much easier. The heart rate does not increase as quickly or easily. When it does increase, it doesn’t usually go as high. And yesterday coming home, it hit 173, and sure I felt it and I was just pausing to stand still for a bit while it came down a little. But last time I recall it getting to 171 or something, I was leaning over hands on my quads, nearly yelling with every exhale, feeling like I was gonna have a heart attack. This time, at 173 I just felt like “Yeah, need to pause here for a few moments.” So even when I do get to a certain heart rate, it doesn’t seem to have the same degree of effect.

I kept it on to drive to the other store across town for shopping. Got $102 worth of nothing but meat, peppers and tomatillos and a bottle of water. Doesn’t get too much more keto than that lol. Two pork loins, london broil roast, thin-sliced flank steak, thicker-ground beef for chili, and I got rotissery chickens and chicken feet and chicken hearts and gizzards, and this morning roasted the bones and used bones, some meat, some skin, the feet hearts gizzards, and some organic bone broth as a small % starter (the rest distilled water), into the instant pot for a 4 hour pressure cook, then I’ll strain it and slow cook with some additional spices for an hour or so and then it’s ready. I ended my (hopefully weekly) fast this morning (90.5 hours, I slept in so exceeded the 88 planned) but I had a big mug of broth left from the last batch in the freezer I had defrosted in the fridge, so as usual I broke my fast with spiced broth. Yum. It’ll be early evening before the current batch is ready.

Homemade kefir is next food (has a big dose of collagen protein and some bcaa in it). Then we have a late lunch with my parents at a new place that opened up not far away. I’m considering putting on the vest and walking there just to try and get as much exercise in as I can. Up until now my body has basically wanted to wait two days between efforts with it. I just figured after awhile it must be that I’m an older woman and my recovery is slower. But I’m feeling like my cardio fitness is increasing a little and I can probably move wearing it to somewhat regularly if I want.

Humor: it sure makes walking a little without it seem easy!
