Water Weight Gain

Your body as far as losing the water weight sounds like me. I have only 3 more lbs to go out of my 10 lb water gain from about 3-4 days ago. Now I just found out my brother and his wife are coming over today with some homemade desserts and then tomorrow, their bringing pizzas from a new place for lunch. I can’t win. I will have to fight this because I am not going to give in and backtrack all over again. Life does get in the way sometimes. Drives me nutty.

Isn’t it weird how that happens? I hope it goes well! It’s helpful for me to envision waking up in the morning and feeling good when I’m making food choices. It doesn’t work all the time, but it has helped me avoid some of the high carb foods that really weren’t worth the pain (like cheap, mass-produced cookies) vs something that I won’t regret, like a reasonably sized piece of a special holiday dessert made by a loved one. I made an agreement with myself that I can eat it if it’s truly rare or special (like a fresh croissant in France - I’m going to eat and savor that thing if I find myself with that opportunity). What really irritates me is when I lose it and eat a bunch of “non-special” carbs. I’m still trying to figure out why that happens from time to time and I imagine that will be a never ending journey. In regard to the special goodies your family is bringing - if it works for your personality/mindset, I hope that you choose the most fantastically awesome option, savor it, and adjust your plan in the following days without assigning any guilt. From my perspectice that is truly approaching it as a “lifestyle”. Some people can’t have any “cheats”, but some can take that more moderate approach and be very successful. Good luck!

Love your comments! I have been able to have a treat or single meal in the past and then the next meal, put it behind me and get back to my healthy food choices. Not sure what happened this last time. I guess maybe it was because I had been doing so good and then lost control, once I put that first yummy bite in my mouth. Not an excuse, since I should be able to control myself, but sadly it didn’t happen this time. My brother is bringing pizzas over today for dinner. I am planning to let the family enjoy and I have another favorite of mine taking its place. I am making a yummy steak w/ butter and a couple other items (keto). I can pass up the pizza for very few things. Steak is definatley one item and luckily it is a Keto.
