Personally I’d go with frozen berries wizzed up with HWC in the blender…
This or that?
Boom!!!
HWC, frozen berries, vanilla extract, a few ice cubes and a little stevia.
Soft serve, low carb ice cream goodness.
Both treats are NOT healthy options to offer a toddler. That toddler will soon be bouncing off the walls. Better treats would be cheese slices, berries and creme fresh, full fat yogurts, nuts, etc.

I agree and I choose neither! I was just interested in the comparative sugar content… so often fruit is given a pass as healthy and the reality is, the sugar content is just as bad, if not worse, than “sugary” foods!

Even though I am a huge ice cream fan (was my weakness before keto), I still think I’d pick the banana. Just for fiber and potassium. Even though my heart would bleed for ice cream.
Really trying to wean myself off too many sweet things. Even keto sweets, I think they are just so yummy, I tend to overindulge. So, limiting myself, and trying more filling up on savory stuff.
I know you are NOT choosing either of these, and asked a hypothetical question. I see everyone piling on giving you other ideas!! ha ha ha. cracks me up. Do a poll next time maybe??
LOL! Yes, it was a hypothetical! I probably didn’t explain or express myself clearly… Is a poll an option?? I’m working on limiting my sweeteners, too. I don’t know the specific influence they are having on my ketosis, but if I can get further away from them, I know I’ll feel better!
Yes, poll is an option and anyone can do it. I don’t exactly remember how, but I think it’s with the 3 dots at the bottom. But, if you start a new topic, you can easily turn it into a poll.
Wow, didn’t mean for this reply to go to me?!? weird. @Kansasdaisy is where I hit reply.
Mine did that to me a few minutes ago, too! I hit reply to a person, but it didn’t work… weird… I was mobile, so that may have been the problem…
It’s tempting to try to come up with an absolute scale that can compare the two, I tried at first.
I wouldn’t consider temporarily going into fat storage mode to be all that bad.
Regularly eating starches or sweets, especially with little fat or protein, can lead to carbohydrate dependance—like the urge to snack on pretzels an hour after a meal, or needing a nap. And when taken to extremes can become reactive hypoglycemia.
We know how to reverse both of those trends, and fairly quickly.
Something harder to reverse is glycation of proteins.
This happens more when blood sugar goes over 90 mg/dl. Fat and protein blunt the glucose spike, even more so by reducing carb intake.
Since we’re not measuring the blood glucose of kids or ourselves after every meal or snack, we might look instead for signs of the reaction to spikes in blood glucose—headaches, midday drowsiness, reactive hypoglycemia, and prioritize their prevention—through any and all means possible.
