Sorry Never 2 I got on my high horse there! We all do what we can in this forum I’m sure. The growth of farmers shops goes to show that people are getting more and more aware of the quality of foods so it’s a good outlook. Just a matter of time till the governments realise that if they want to stop obesity they have to promote natural foods and stop the processing.

Hi Allie, you’re right, the minced lamb is pricy, I just checked the price, quite a big difference between the minced beef and lamb, well my body doesn’t seem to want anything at the moment then beef, it’s a bit odd, but when I eat it my body just feels so good, I’m filled with a sense of wellbeing.
I don’t eat much fish as my body never seems to want it. There was a time I would include it anyway, just because it’s thought to be healthy and for a bit of variety, but now I just follow what my body wants and it seems to be my pasture eggs, beef, raw milk and KerryGold butter, lol. Oh, and coffee. I haven’t been able to quit coffee yet as I tried to quit it cold turkey, and lasted one day, and anyway I decided midterm with both my boys home from school was not the time to quit caffeine. And to think I only started drinking coffee when I started a ketogenic WOE. Before that I only drank green tea. But I’m not convinced that’s all that beneficial either, when in a bag, shop bought. And when I think about how Dr. Paul Saladino refers to coffee as burnt beans, and I bring the same coffee grounds to the boil at least twice or thrice, to save on the coffee, I can’t possibly see what the benefit would be, other than that I like the taste, and I worry about the oxidising effect, and what effect that may have on my body.
I can’t imagine what could happen to the leaves just to chopped up and put into a bag… Tea even lasts long.
Or you talk about filters with lower-quality leaves and extra stuff in it? Yeah, I don’t consider them great either but use them for variety, hardly harm me.
Nutrition wise I don’t care anyway as I don’t drink tea and coffee for any nutritional benefit, I eat food for that Tea and coffee merely entertains me more than pure water. Sometimes they are nice. (Coffee acts like dessert too. Or some chance to delay the inevitable when peckish. It helps nothing with hunger, only food does and my coffee isn’t THAT substantial but when I need to wait half an hour until my meal for some reason, at least I consume something fun. But I rarely need that. Good as I quit coffee again and cocoa isn’t carnivore, not like it matters to me when it helps me out…)
Hi Shinita, I enjoy coffee for the taste too. I don’t fancy green tea anymore, haven’t done for a long time. But like you I drink coffee for enjoyment, and see it as a dessert even. I certainly don’t drink it for any health benefits, but it’s whether drinking coffee is contributing to my roseaca I’m more concerned about. I am off antibiotics now and my roseaca has flared up which I did expect, but there is something causing this, and (1) I don’t believe in just treating the symptoms as it masks the underlying condition. (2) I believe the antibiotics is worsening the underlying condition (impaired gut) whilst masking the symptoms. So, I am keeping my WOE very simple, and only going with foods that make my body feel good. I must admit although coffee tastes good, it’s more of an … Oh, I’ve had my fix now, I feel a bit more with it, than the sense of incredible wellness I get from eating a good, nourishing meal, such as my daily plate of beef and eggs. But also, the rich nutrition from a glass of raw milk, or the feeling of goodness I get from my lumps of Kerry Gold butter which I eat as a treat. Or my pasture eggs. Coffee is more like a fix, fuelling my addiction. I even put on the timer on my phone after every meal, substantial or small, so I can know when I can have my coffee. As I leave an hour after I’ve eaten something nutritious for better bio-availability.
I definitely don’t miss coffee when I have milk But I never felt (longer term, I mean, occasionally yet) that I need coffee specifically, just that something else than water and tea. Egg milk is nice but I very rarely like it all alone, some flavoring is needed (despite it having very tasty eggs) and I have few ideas apart from coffee. But milk is great alone. And if I feel nostalgic, thinking back to my big late breakfasts where I often ate a lot of milk with bread, I can have buttered eggy sponge cakes with it…
The huge differences are fine, it’s still a nice combo.
