STILL no results after almost 13 weeks! Can anyone help?!?!?

That’s a great way to look at it. It seems like I have to look really hard to see any benefits, since I still deal with fatigue and exhaustion a lot. Trust me, I AM looking for any and all NSV’s, and sometimes it seems like I have something, but then it disappears so fast, I can’t be sure (like energy for a bit during a day, but then I have to take a nap again). I need to remember what @mikki said in a previous post [quote=“mikki, post:19, topic:10347”]
all of our bodies are different, need different levels of healing/correction, and will experience keto uniquely.

The things you @mikki and @KetoLikeaLady have posted have helped me tremendously. Thank you so much. I feel better about my “progress” and will continue to KCKO. I appreciate your insight, as it’s difficult to “see the forest for the trees” sometimes, and another persons perspective can definitely help clear the view.

I have an appointment to do labs on Friday!!

Interesting thread, and one I can relate to. I am the same age, and although no lupus or auto immune, I am hypothyroid (now treated with Lugols iodine since Synthroid wasn’t working) and am also a chronic pain patient.
Last year, after initially losing 30 lbs the previous year, I found myself in the same situation.

After doing a lot of research and trial and error, and some common sense, I learned that you CAN eat TOO MUCH FAT. If I eat too much dietary fat, my body has no reason to access its own fat stores. Makes sense, doesn’t it? So I had to modify my plan, and have since started to drop at will.

There are also other “culprits” that will undo my efforts: cheese over 4 oz., nut butters, any fruit…it just took me a while to figure it out. If I losted what I eat here, many would say I don’t eat enough but I know my body. If I eat ANY other way, I gain and feel terrible. Hope maybe this may help you too.

Also,I dieted and did CICO and fad diets all my life. And I lose weight doing low carb ( you notice I omitted the “high fat” part?!) and fasting. I may be wrong and may get kicked for it, but unless you have an underlying medical condition or med that CAUSES weight gain , then something in your eating plan is not working with your physiology. Take it down to the bery basics and slowly add each item back in. See what happens. Time consuming but revealing.

Thanks @skinnyjeans13 for your advice. It’s a great idea. I have decided, after seeing my HRT therapist, my PCP and my rheumatologist all within the past 2 weeks, that my body is busy taking care of itself and doesn’t have the energy or time or desire to let go any weight right now. I’ve been advised to adjust some of my meds, add certain supplements, and then advised the opposite by the other specialists. So, I’m doing what I think will work for me, based on my experience.

I’m hopeful that one day my body will be healthy enough to allow the weight to come off. I truly believe that when you’re healthy, your body will shed the pounds. Before that, at least in my case, I think it’s fighting a harder battle, trying to keep me alive and working correctly.

Here’s an example of what I mean. For 4 months, I have been moving around a lot at a slow pace, as per the Primal Blueprint, which I follow and live. What that means is, that 5-7 days per week, I walk or bike at 55-75% of my max heart rate, for 30-60 mins (depending on my energy level that day, which fluctuates considerably). In all that time, I do not feel like I have gotten stronger, and I have definitely not improved my time. As discouraging as that is, I have decided to think about it in terms of, “What if I DIDN’T do what I’m doing? Would I be digressing, getting worse?” I really think that might be an issue for me in my current state. I still fight fatigue every hour of every day. I know I’m fat adapted. I know I’m exercising correctly and not too much. I’m getting as good of sleep as my body will let me. And on and on.

So . . . because I feel best when I eat this way, and live this way, I will continue to do what I do. And hope that one day, I’ll get the results I would really like. In the meantime, I’ll just do what I do and KCKO.

Hi Keto friends,

I know this is an old thread, but I’m wondering how you are all doing now? I am seven weeks on strict Keto with no weight loss (it’s actually gone up a bit), no change in size, etc. I read your thread and felt very validated, if still frustrated. I do test my ketones multiple times a day, and I am ALWAYS in ketosis. I have yet to try fasting, but I’ve done everything else that is recommended. Wondering if you all finally got the sucesss you wanted after staying the course? Looking for some encouragement to continue.

Thanks much!

I initially lost 60 then stalled for about a year! I recently found out why.

I gave up ALL sweeteners (Stevia was the main culprit), cream cheese, nut butters, Crystal Light, and I limit dairy.

I was stuck at 145. In 11 days, I have gone down consistently every day but 1. This morning I was 137.6. I am elated.

You need to know your Glucose-ketone index.
Weight loss is optimal between 6-10.
Before I made the changes, I was at 25.
This morning it was 8.
I am happy to help you find your sweet spot!

Thank you, Deb.

This was very encouraging. If you wouldn’t mind. Could you tell me how to calculate the glucose-ketone index? Thanks very much in advance.

Best to you,

Danielle

I found how to calculate the KGI online. No need to forward it. Interestingly, my KGI jumps around a huge amount, even during the course of a single day. It falls anywhere from 2 to over 20. It is generally under 6, though. I’ll definitely be using this index to fine-tune my daily eating. Thanks so very much for the heads up. It was super helpful!
