Starting over. :(

Oh, okay. We are all we need for advice and helping each other, and the 2KetoDudes podcasts, of course! =).

(Hyperbole- best thing in the universe!) #23

of course! That’s why I particularly don’t like this kind of spam. People want to help each other and that is a great thing. Then other people try and use other’s good will against them. Imagine if you were newer and still unsure what to do and you didn’t realize yet that you don’t need to buy a program? Those of us who’ve been around a while know, but if you are a few days or weeks in, it can be confusing. This kind of spammer preys on those people and I don’t like it.

Not on my watch.

That is awesome that you caught it! Great detective work on your part =). Thanks for keeping all the forum members safe =).

Try some butter in the bone broth, it helps and it tastes good, too!
I keep salt in my desk drawer along with coconut oil, and have been known to sprinkle some salt on the oil if I’m doing a short fast. It helps

Yesss! @David_Stilley mentioned having fat, as well, and I couldn’t think of a good way to do that but of course, in a liquid like coffee or bone broth. Butter in bone broth actually sounds delicious anytime!

Sounds like a classic addictive binge, to me. I’m sorry you had to go through that.

One psychological prop that has helped me is to remember that I can always start my day over again—I don’t have to wait until tomorrow.

Also, it can be very helpful to think of doing without carbohydrate merely for the next 24 hours, instead of having sworn off it for life. If I thought I could never, ever have another glazed doughnut, I’d be down at Dunkin’ Donuts within the hour. Instead, I promise myself all the doughnuts I want—tomorrow. Even the worst sugar/carb addict in the world can go 24 hours without a glazed doughnut. ā€œLater; just not right nowā€ makes a good mantra.

I love this strategy! :+1::+1::+1:

Thank you for this!

I do tend to have an ā€œall-or-nothingā€ personality when under stress or feeling weak so giving myself just one day at a time is helpful. Good advice!

I’d be the wrong person to ask. My ā€œslipsā€ last for years, and a years long slip at my age could kill me.

Many years ago, when I was trying to do low-carb, I read (and wrote) posts that went something like this:
ā€œI did not eat [insert carb of choice], my body did it all by itself. I kept saying I’M NOT EATING THAT, but my hands put it in my mouth and made me chew & swallow.ā€

I saw that type of thing so many times and experienced it myself more than once. It has to be some sort of autonomic reflex. Some people conjectured that it may have been triggered by a candida infestation, as there have purportedly been some studies that claim candida can cross the brain/blood barrier and instruct your body to ingest things that the candida needs to thrive.

It sounds a little science fiction-y to me, but who knows?
