Slow going

#21

Hey Brenda,

Thought of you today. I’ve recently seen a big loss unexpectedly. For the last 2 weeks my weight loss doubled. I have changed a thing but for about a month I’ve gotten a little more serious about IF.

Are you incorporating any fasting?

Sophie

Hey Sophie,

Thanks for reaching out. I typically do not eat anything between 5:00pm and 5:00am. This week I just started pushing that to 14-16 hours of fasting. I also spent a day pricking my finger 8 times to check my glucose during fasting, after eating, etc. and everything looked good (glucose 79 mg/dl, ketones 2.0mmol/L - GKI 3.0). I wanted to know if my water with lemon and ACV was breaking my fast and it did not. I also wanted to know if an occasional drink with sucralose would effect my glucose, it did not. My glucose only spiked after a meal. Hope IF does the trick.

Checking in. It has been a year since I started Keto. I lost 22 lbs. in 11 months, which seems low to me. I started OMAD 6 weeks ago. I did OMAD for 5 days a week for 4 weeks and lost 7 lbs. I went back to 2 meals a day for a week, gained 2 lbs. This week back to OMAD. I still think my weight loss for a year is low. Trying not to compare, but others lose so much more. I have no intentions on stopping Keto but I wish I knew what could kick it up a notch. I would like to lose another 30 lbs.

Do you wish to lose poundage, or fat? In other words, if your body were to add some lean mass (more muscle, denser bone) while shedding fat, would you be okay with that, or is a low number on the scale your only acceptable goal? Or to put it yet another way, would you prefer to look as though you lost that additional thirty pounds but weigh the same, or would you prefer to look the same but weigh thirty pounds lighter?
