Thanks, Bob. I suspected the NMR lab would show good things.

Now I just need to help my pcp come around to understanding my true state of health. All in good time!

I wouldn’t be too concerned about the “high” LDL-p and “small” LDL-p, as mine have been “high” for years, I think since I started, but I got a CAC scan score of zero.

(Bruce Pick) #24

I now have CAC scores, from a CT scan this afternoon.
TLDR: Zero calcium buildup found in the coronary arteries. And: “The estimated probability of a non-zero calcium score for a white male of age 72 is 86%.” Only 14% of men my age score a zero on this.

My opinion: My PCP should be totally pleased and never again suggest statins or a visit to a cardiac specialist.

My PCP insisted I do something to deal with my elevated cholesterol counts, as noted in my earlier posts here. So I was able to get him to order the CT scan for coronary artery calcium. Hopefully now he won’t ask me to do anything else about my cholesterol numbers. I’m looking forward to tonight’s dinner of kielbasa with buttered and oiled cooked cabbage.

That’s great news!
