Restless leg syndrome

My RLS rarely bothers me but since I’m on keto and IF, it bothers me every night. Anyone else experience this? Suggestions? Thank you!

It can be common, likewise muscle cramps at night.

I always have a glass of salted water before bed and that works. If I forget, I will get leg/foot cramps. Every darn time. So I rarely forget. If that’s not enough, add some magnesium. If that’s not enough, add potassium.
Good luck!

N=1, my dad had RLS for 6 months. I told him to start eating beef liver and it resolved within a week. I suspected iron/zinc/copper imbalance when looking at his diet. Cannot say for certain I was correct, but it did resolve almost immediately, so seems like it may have been correct. Officially iron would have been the player in his case.

Thank you for your kind response. I do take potassium and magnesium quite consistently.
We’ll just keep going and hope it works itself out. :sun_with_face:

This thread has lots of info about this topic. I use more magnesium for mine. Used to be a big problem but now rarely occurs for me.

I rarely had that but when I went into carnivore lifestyle, any time I ‘snitched’ into carb eating land a tad as I transitioned I could easily get RLS. Drove me nuts literally. Only when I dropped the carbs as I needed to do and go ‘all in’ carnivore did I drop the RLS also. But this is me, what it took for me to discuss my RLS issues. Not sure on your carb intake but maybe ‘switch around’ some of your carb food intake to ‘maybe see’ if something is working against you in any way. I tell ya things like this are that mystery of annoyance but only thru some experimenting can one ‘feel’ how they might improve ya know. OK just some suggestions on forward movement if needed…hope ya feel better, I can say that RLS is super annoying to me and I think so many of us had to deal with it for sure.
