Reset after being Keto for a while

#21

I would say don’t do it if it stresses you out, but I think the idea of mixing up your eating patterns is very beneficial, and keeps your body “guessing” when it’s getting its next meal.

I don’t track my macros, but at this point, if you’ve gone a pretty long time without weight lose, I think you really need to track your macros to get a good idea of the food your eating.

You can use an online tool, like the Cronometer, or an app on your phone, like the Keto Diet App. Someone may have a suggestion for better tools to use, but that’s where I’d start.

Good luck, Mike! I hope some of this advice helps.

At 2 years, you’re living this longer than I have, 1 1/2 years. Are you tracking body measurements with a tape measure? Do the tape measurements show an increase?

I use cronometer to track my nutrients so I’m not ‘precision tracking’ but I get a good idea. I find I eat a lot of the same things so it becomes a lot quicker & easier after a while. You can also run your recipes through the custom feature if they’re something you eat regularly.

I haven’t done measuring, but my work shirts are definitely tighter. Also putting on jeans this Fall they still fit but a bit tighter.

Not good. As both Dr. Westman and Barry both recommend for this, I’d decrease my carbs as much as possible. I presume you remain below 20 total grams, and no potential carb-creep?

You’re not going to like my advice but… … …
You should start tracking what you eat, so you can be sure of what you’re consuming.

You’re quite experienced at keto, so you are already aware of the usual pit falls. If you don’t track, you can easily consume more than you think, especially over such a long period of time. Creepage can really knacker you up.

I will have a lot better idea of where I’m at after this week

Is it possible that we become less tolerant of carbs the longer we’re without them? Maybe i could get away with more when I first started?

Not sure. Our bodys can certainly learn to adapt to a very many different situations.
