Planning a single cheat week

When I go on vacations I cheat too. But it has got to be really good. Like I ate pasta in Tuscany— had to …
Here is what I do to mitigate the consequences of weight gain especially from water and feeling bad.
—Only 1 cheat meal in a 24 hour period. —Never on two consecutive days
—weigh every day on the same scale if possible (yes sometimes I pack one)— if there is a 3# or more eight gain - I do a strict no carb day with water flush
—Use intermittent fasting either before or after my cheat (plan ahead since it is easier to fast while in ketosis and have the cheat after a fast than the other way around)
— after a cheat meal do some aerobic activity to help burn it off such as dinner followed by a night of dancing or lunch followed by walk/run
—have strict guidelines for cheat: mine is I can only cheat on holidays or if I am on vacation - that helps me to not go on the slippery slope

Nice rules, of course all need individual ones but they sound good in general…
IF is a great idea for me but I do it anyway. I never actually did it but my plan is eating only once on a carby day, it surely would keep me from overeating. So IF on the off day itself and a serious one at that if possible!
If I already have an off meal, that’s it for that day, I mean no way I go back to my normal on the same day, my body and mind doesn’t work that way so it’s a very good idea for me to start with a proper meal and mess my day up only later  My control is better until I touch my first carby stuff, it’s good to use that.
Extra activity is a great idea for many (especially for people like me who eat more if carbs are involved) but no way I could do it after my meal instead of before while being very well-fasted (if it’s strenuous enough. I can walk after a meal but I try to avoid that too)! So the timing is individual.

Not everyone needs these things though. More carbs doesn’t necessarily mean fat-gain or slower fat-loss, some people feels great too… And not everyone has problems with coming back very easily. So it’s important to know ourselves and act accordingly. I probably wrote that before… I always think of individual differences as they are very great.

But most people here are pretty metabolically unhealthy… But to each their own.

One other trick I like, because it happens to me… If I do a carby cheat meal… I will FAT Fast for a day or two, to turn my hunger back off. I Learned this from Dr. Fungs Fasting Method (IDM).

Overload on fat a bit, ONE or TWO foods only. I do FATTY hamburger patties (some do bacon).
Until you are ready and the cravings are gone. It’s a TOOL to have in the toolbox…
