I’d do the show too but omg those people get eaten up from bugs & some come away with diseases like leishmaniasis or worse. Special item should be mosquito netting!
Phinney thinks Long term fasting no benefits
I would love to see an article by Nina Teicholz on how to read a research paper. If anyone is an expert on reading and interpreting research, I’d think she is.
That was true for me as well. I met that milestone after my first EF and felt I was finally fat adapted (at about 5 or 6 months into eating Keto).
Also Zoë Harcombe, a British statistician whose doctoral thesis was an analysis of Ancel Keys’ Seven-Country study. I believe her Web site has some information on it that you might find useful.
Also, David Colquhoun at the University College London medical school has a bad-science blog with some tips on p-values and the reliability measures of statistics: www.dcscience.net/. He’s fun to read, even if his explanations don’t make sense (I mean, they almost certainly make sense to other statisticians, even though they are sometimes too deep for me). Very opinionated and loathes bad “science.”
Awesome! Thanks, I’ll check these resources out. Just an FYI, I have a Computational Math degree (never really used professionally) but statistics takes a different kind of mind IMO, lol.
Edit: typos
Whatever type it takes, my type of mind sure isn’t it, lol!
I flunked out when we reached advanced algebra and ring theory. Fortunately, I had the good sense to avoid statistics from the beginning!
I nominate @richard to be on Naked & Afraid. It’d be pretty hard for anyone to dismiss keto after watching him happily fast for nearly a month whilst everyone else is strugglng.
Go Richard!
But if he has to be naked, will they still let him wear his cunning hat? Inquiring minds want to know!
I won’t ever fast because I need potassium and that means eating some kind of food to get it or use potassium powder but that’s not to safe, as much as I pee even after 10 weeks of keto and still not fat adapted fasting would cramp my muscles like crazy, I can barely go a half day without needing to eat some kind of food with potassium in it. So fasting is beyond stupid to me
and I need to eat food when I take my supplements
Agreed, I respect both this professionals deeply for their work and contribution but it seems like, due to Autophagy being undeniable at this point, he might be biased by his teachings or, hopefully not and just speculating, he might be under the influence of some type of endorsement?
I just saw a video by Phinney, The other Day, where he used the biggest loser (not fasting) as an example of the long terms effect of Fasting on the metabolism
How can I take this guy seriously
