New to Keto Day 14

#21

it is fine, add it to the meal as a finishing up cap off. This avoids the extra insulin spike

What Alley said. Still have your PB, but just put it with the meal instead of as a snack.

Just yesterday I took two squares of extra dark chocolate and topped with some almond butter. It was my dessert at the end of my meal.

#23

Ooo we can have dark chocolate??!

#24

do not go crazy, it still has sugar in it and best be on low total carb days. but id does have some good anti oxidant properties. SO a very rare treat for hitting some personal goals.

#25

Thank you guys!!!

Or just do zero carb the rest of the day then enjoy as a daily treat and still stay well under your carb limit. Like I said, only 2 squares of 92% cocoa.

#27

92% nice doubt I can find that here

Took me awhile to find it, but I found Ghirardelli’s Intense Dark. So good with either a nut butter or some marscapone.

#29

I live on a sugar plantation island so not sure it is even here but will look.

try a different nut butter…tree nut, almond no sugar added. i am trying a small portion of high fat greek plain yogurt at night. green mountain, stoneyfield are 2 good choices

You listed Breakfast, Lunch Dinner, 3 meals a day and

That’s a lot of time spent eating. Your body has no chance to chill with lower insulin. Also there were some carby items in there beans, peanuts and Brussels sprouts.
Please read Jason Fungs blog and many of the resources in here to understand how keto works. It’s not about eating numerous meals with traditionally “healthful” things.
It’s
Minimal carbs
Only moderate protein
All your energy for the day from Fat

If you do that, you will very soon NOT be able to eat that often because fat satisfies for a long time. Most keto folks naturally eat less often after the initial adaptation. And we don’t go hungry either. The mantra then becomes
Eat when hungry
Eat till satiated
DONT eat when NOT hungry

That’s what I meant
