Baby comes first, always.
And oats make milk, so maybe porridge is the breakfast that’s needed for the next few weeks, or even months.
My feeling is 62g carbs, even if it’s not keto, is OK. And 62g is way below the amount of carbs eaten as cake for no purpose!
You are doing a wonderful job and maximising the health of both of you.
Hang in there, and have a nap!!

New to keto, 3rd day, breastfeeding and hungry :(
Are you having enough electrolytes? Sodium in particular? This is a pretty typical challenge when starting keto. Carbs help us retain water, so without them we have to be pretty careful about electrolyte balance. Can you look up the KetoAde recipe on here?
You’re only in the initial adaptive stage. You should NOT be concerned with calories, only the adaption. Keto calculators are based only on some Guru’ s opinion, not Hard Science. Since you’re breastfeeding, I suggest a higher protein macro, around 35 percent, with the fat macro around 60 percent or a little more. Follow that macro to Satiety. If you get hungry, EAT!
I breastfed my baby for 10 1/2 months on Keto. kept calories to 2500-3000 lost around 30lbs. started at 70 carbs and cut down 10 carbs every week. Got down to 20 and even below with carbs. Just eat when you’re hungry . You’re milk supply should be fine. Just make sure you drink enough and eat sauerkraut for vitamin c or real pickles. Take magnesium and potassium and plenty of pink salt
The point i am not getting hungry to fill up the 2500 cal i can’t believe i am saying it but its the truth
Breastfed three hungry boys…
I would strongly suggest not compromising your milk supply. There is no medical emergency requiring you to drop into keto so fast. Eat more carbs in the short term, slowly ramp them down if you want. You will lose weight while breastfeeding even if you eat more carbs
No, you and your baby feel full at 2500 calories. That’s two people, one of whom is growing fast.
Today I’m on my 3rd day of keto and 16:8. I am nursing a 7 month old who only just started table food. I have been starving today! Thank you for this thread as I’ve learned I shouldn’t IF while nursing. Ive probably eaten half a billion calories, almost all fat and protein, today so I will stop the IF and maybe increase a few carbs if I’m like this tomorrow.
How are you doing? Breastfed my baby exclusively for one year - then introduced food. No keto - I was vegetarian.
