I use Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides. It’s available on amazon. Completely tasteless (at least I can’t taste it in coffee), mixes in very easily, zero carb, yada yada.
Morning Protein Boost to my Coffee?
Careful with the collagen supplementation. Collagen is a healthy product to ingest, but it is not a complete protein profile. It’s ok to have as a portion of your daily protein intake…not as a majority of the total protein intake.
I realize @bee that you are likely only using it as a small portion of your daily protein. I just wanted to put this caution statement in this thread for others who may develop the idea to use it for most or all their protein needs for the day. Just in case.
Thanks, @Fiorella – good point! I don’t even use it every day because if I’m really feeling hungry I want real food.
I highly advise against protein powders on keto. They may have a role in a small percentage of people’s diets for various reasons but in general, it is very easy to get the low to moderate protein numbers required for most of us from food.
Additionally, unless you are training in the morning. Protein isnt necessary for most. As long as you are meeting your macros for the day, you will be ok.
BPC in the morning technically breaks a fast but leaves a lot of other benefits of fasting in place since it does not significantly effect insulin response.
If you enjoy just your BPC in the morning - then do it to it. If you want to try some protein, add in some protein food with it. Eggs and Bacon are quick and easy (you can even prep the night before).
I encourage you to try out how adding protein makes you feel and let us know. You may find no difference or you may find that for you everything i wrote is poppycock.
