@marklifestyle, thanks for this. Nothing is more inspiring than real down to earth stories about overcoming. (That’s the reason I also loved my dad’s AA meetings. So cool, I had to join later. Lol.)

We are having our 39 year old son, (autistic high functioning-ish) son get an A1C test this week. So I may soon be taking on a new medical challenge. BG testing at home indicates at least pre-diabetes. But if so… I welcome it… have been after him for a couple years to do something about that gut. He is a sacker at a grocery store and lives alone so has a daily opportunity to buy crap, especially sweets.

I’ll be looking to the folks on here, like you, who can offer some advice.

Read The Big Fat Surprise by Nina Teicholz and you will see how this kind of stuff gets published. It is a fascinating yet disturbing read.

Yesterday I made some comments about a failing heart relying on ketones for fuel. For those who wish to see more of this:

My n=1 study conclusion is Keto diet reversed my Type 2 diabetes, I went from obese to normal weight, feel great, most of my ailments have resolved, everyone is amazed at my transformation. I’ll live 20 years longer, my health expenses in retirement will be minimal. I will spend all the money I have saved. Sorry to my children, you’ll have no inheritance.
