I might be a little bias but, three words “eat more meat .”
I'm hungry and I need help!
I definitely don’t approve of any factory manufactured ready to eat food, I was assuming she made it from scratch. Many of the pre made cauliflower crusts have carb binders included, ok for gluten free but not keto. Thanks for the clarification.
Hmm the things that stand out to me immediately are, it appears you are not eating enough calories 700-800 calories a day is unsafe. The lowest recommended is 1000 and even that is extreme. So you body may be going into a “starvation” mode and just hanging on to fat for dear life. Second, FAT. You are not eating enough of it. Until you up for fat intake you will stay hungry. Lastly, I know it’s hard try not to focus on the scale too much. It took me weeks for my body to finally start letting go of the weight.
Good luck!

It seems like those statements contradict each other? It’s been a while since I read Fung’s explanation (or any others), but it was my impression that your body does need a time of higher fat intake to start easily switching to fat burning. And when that switch as been made, you’re fat-adapted.
Take 2 different scenarios. The person eating low everything…eventually, yes, they’ll start tapping fat reserves, but never truly become fat-adapted because fat isn’t an easily accessible energy supply. Initially, it’s “locked away” by the high carb, high insulin levels…person starts dieting, carbs go lower, fat goes lower, insulin lowers, but body still isn’t using fat for fuel yet, so BMR lowers and the struggle continues.
Other person lowers carbs, increases fat. Insulin levels lower, but dietary fat is easily accessible, so body starts increasing the fat burning machinery, until person is fat adapted. Then, dietary fat can be lowered so that body fat can be used for energy.
I have to loose 20 kg (44lbs maybe?, not sure)
I don’t count calories, but They just don’t go up. I Cook everything in butter and olive oil though, I’m just too lazy to add them to the cronometer so I do eat more calories and fat that what is shown
I used to eat no more than 80g of Meat per meal, but I’ll eat more Meat so thanks for your tips
I’m not eating enough calories, I know, I feel exhausted indeed! Last Summer I used to eat as little as 200 calories per day, some days no more than 100. It was crazy! I also used to work out (just walking) up to (almost) 7 hours per day, everyday! I Will eat more calories and feel Less tired! Thanks for your help
Eating more protein is not going to kick you out of ketosis. It might drop the meter reading a fraction but that’s meaningless. Are you active or are you just sitting in front of a computer all day? You’re telling us about your diet but not enough about the body it’s going into and how much weight you need to lose and your metabolic condition. I think NET carbs is more important because fiber does not count at all. Eat fatty steaks and avoid “liquid” fat until you establish that your lipid panel is good.
I’m sedentary. I don’t have time to work out since I have to study a ton. I weight 84-85kg (185 lbs) and I need to loose 20kg (44lbs). My goal weight is 74kg (163 lbs). I’m young (17) This should help. Started Keto on January 7 and not sure about how much I lost since I didn’t weight myself before starting keto. My metabolism is slow because of past diets.
I tried it and it’s good! Maybe I’m crazy but I like the taste of butter, simply butter! Thank you for the tip
Is your weight evenly distributed or is a lot of it around the gut? How tall are you? I’m 6’2", I lost 25 pounds in 3 months and now I’m stalled at 200 lbs and wanting to lose 10 more to get to 190. 80% of my fat loss was around the gut but without an MRI I cant know just how much was visceral fat. All my cloths still fit but I look a lot better and my belly does not lap over my belt (dunlap’s disease)
I don’t have a big belly. It’s not fat of course but my problem is the lower part of my body (his and legs) I’m 5’10 (178cm)
Just get a scale and you wont be wondering about it any more. From all I’ve read you should burn visceral fat first from keto but everyone’s a little different. If you short yourself on protein your metabolism will slow down (especially if you are cutting calories) and you will lose muscle mass. Red meat is better than chicken and pork. It seems odd that someone would measure calories but not measure weight.
You’re not crazy. If you like the taste of butter, it means you’re fat adapted enough, and that you need more of it. Eat all the tasty fats you can find, and do it without worrying about calories. Just make sure not too many carbs follow it. Don’t even worry about overeating on fat, consumption will slow down naturally as your body gets used to having sufficient fuel. Only after that happens, should you start thinking about slight calorie restriction and working out.
If you don’t feel like you have time to work out, you should take a look at Body By Science (Little & McGuff). All you need is 15 min a week, is the promise. Some people here have tried, and been impressed. I’ll be lokking into it too, being the awfully lazy person that I am. Tiring myself out completely in 15 min seems way superior to running my self to death every day.
