I smell bad... Please help

#1

I don’t know what it is but I smell like rotten eggs.

Some context first. I’ve been working out like crazy (kettle bells and running) and keeping my carbs low, protein moderate (about 1 gram for lb of lean body mass) and my eating fat for sateity.

It’s been 3 days- This is my first week back into keto WOE after a 6 month hiatus. Feeling great now but my sweat is starting to smell like my poop… Is this normal? What’s wrong with me? Why am I sweating poo?

Is it something I’m eating or is it just a detox/die off of some bad bacteria after a long summer of pizza, beer, BBQs, parties and festivals.

Didn’t experience this last time round and I was in keto for a year.

Apologies for being crass, but just thought I’d vent here… Don’t really know where else to go.

Have you tried baking soda, changing deodorant or soap, drinking a ton of water?

I have smellier feet now and my shoes just get Febreezed often. I guess it’s a thing, stinky meat eaters…?

Thanks… I’ll try anything. Going to need a baking soda shower at this point.

I hope others chime in and you get some better help. I bought that stupid crystal deodorant but in spray form and it really does neutralize odors once they are there. It doesn’t stop sweat from happening, though.

It’s a good back up thing to have around if you don’t want to smell like anything but you want to neutralize odors.

thanks @PetaMarie! friends said the same thing. drink lots of water with apple cider vinegar.

They also suggested taking a bath with epsom salts…this helps pulls toxins out of your system apparently. Will try that soon.

Thanks again for the suggestions.

Too much protein or the toxins in your fat stores being released. Some more answers here- Why do I stink

(Carl Keller) #7

This.

"Once you start burning fat, those toxins will be released into your bloodstream and will be excreted for example through sweat

In simple terms, your body is getting rid of toxins stored in fat and it’s excreted through sweating and that’s what makes everything stink"
