When I was a kid my grandparents would bring fresh cracklings ( salty thick hot fresh chunks of fried pork belly) I would try to devour them, they were so good, but on the 4 or 5 one the pleasure would turn into misery as I would always try eat that last one, what a mistake as it produced an overall nausea and left me a bit ill. Fast forward to a year into keto while eating a pork steak I got this same weird feeling…again! Holy cr…p I thought , I recognized it as the same feeling, so that what a lack of appetite, satiety is i thought, as I wrapped up the rest of my steak and put the un eaten portion in the fridge. Since that time i have come to trust that signal and just under 2 years into keto it hasn’t failed me yet.

Interestingly, I have been adding a magnesium supplement with meals the past few days and the satiated feeling is kicking in sooner than before and for longer.

Early days to draw a conclusion but will monitor the trend.

Magnesium can upset my digestive system so have to use with caution.

As to the original question, how long does it take for me to feel satiated after eating?

I’ve noticed of late, I start getting that feeling about 3/4 of the way through the meal. My stomach has shrunken, literally. I really just cannot eat the volumes of food that I used to. Eating much past the point where I’m feeling like I had enough becomes uncomfortable and not a pleasurable experience.

I kinda like it this way. My body is working, giving me the feedback I need and desire.

I have found that I eat too fast. If I savor my food, eating it a lot slower, I can be satiated with less food. Also, I enjoy so many different foods that I often find I just want to taste a food–not eat it. I need to do thing slower.
