My hubby took the bun off his McD burger but ordered the meal so there was an order of medium French fries with it. We split it and stopped at halfway through the box. I looked it up on Chronometer and 45 g for the entire box. We ate half, so 22.5 total and each of us ate “half the half” so 11 carbs. Except for the crap oil they were fried in, we didn’t really blow our keto-ness
Hey how are you going? What did you STRESS eat today?
It’s been a tough trot for you David. listen to Ivor Cummins latest podcast with Dave Feldman. They both encourage people that now is the time to pursue the healthiest form of eating available to them. I do hope you start a new day soon back on the tracks. Best, warm wishes.
Things are gradually getting back to normal here. My city of 14 million has 31 active cases, total cases during the outbreak 373, and one death. But we are still pretty restricted. Some of my friends apartment complexes aren’t allowing guests, but mine finally is. While I’m not planning any big dinner parties, I’ve decided to have one person over at a time and try to reconnect with humanity. Why am I telling this story?
Because I just had a refreshing conversation with a friend. She has felt guilty about not useing her time stuck at home better and just watching too much tv. I confessed the same feelings. But we agreed that while it is always best to make progress, this isn’t really the time to criticise ourselves. It’s a stressful time. I can try to do better tomorrow, but worrying about yesterday isn’t going to help
Anyway, I’m glad you are still here. That tells me the train hasn’t actually run away.
Thanks. My hubby and I never were binge eaters, so not a problem stopping. Our biggest sin was snacking all the time on processed foods. We had no idea how bad that was for us!
B12 deficiency and/or artificial blue light toxicity from these technology screens will raise cortisol.
I love this thread @FrankoBear just fyi. I am a MAJOR stress eater. I don’t really binge these days but I just get into constant graze mode and eat too much overall. I did that yesterday Grazed all day and ended with a concoction made from coconut flour, coconut, light cream and monk fruit/erythritol. Stress Grazing Syndrome is what I have I suppose…
I started my day yesterday intending to do a 10am-8pm eating window, but got really hungry around 7am (I’d been up since 3:30am) and caved. Then it was like whatthefuckever all day basically… still keto and including meat and some broccoli. I’m pretty impressed that I felt like fasting today until 4pm. Fasting has become easier for me since I decided to allow stevia in my coffee or tea. I mean, easier by a mile! I know sweeteners aren’t ideal but I feel like since they make fasting easier and less stressful, it’s worth it for me.
2 hours and 42 minutes until my early dinner
Super interesting! Glad I have a filter on this monitor at work… oh and I should probably WORK since I’m at work
I live alone. Makes everything food related easier. I’ve learned to get in and out of the grocery store with only the things on the list. I don’t eat restaurant food. I’ve got a routine of food and exercise that, combined, keeps me feeling full all day. If I eat too much it’s more of what I eat already. That doesn’t mean perfect control but since Christmas it has been. I’ve been stable weight for months at better than average fat percent. I’d like a bit less fat and a bit more muscle but not getting my way on that yet.
So am I @AuntJane! [virtual fist bump]
But what I’ve found is, if I can keep it within ketocarnivore parameters, I’m actually feeling healthier. Stress eating highly nutritious foods. Snack urges squashed with salty bone broth. Early breakfast cravings smashed with black coffee and heavy cream = 18:6 eating window achieved.
It’s there for us by making the right choice at the right time. It’s fine to stress eat when one is stressed. I learnt this from @Fangs. Give your body what it needs (not what your ego wants). Do not restrict.
We can see what restrictions do in society, there is a fair chunk of people who act in the opposite way.
A few days in to working hard on needs and I’m starting to fast naturally. I still feel some stress but the need to eat it has quelled.
ok I heard you and I like your post. Great subject.
Emotions are rough since we all experienced such different upbringing and stress from early ages. We are a product of our childhood, no doubt about that.
You made some fine points FB! Once the body is healed and in balance with hormones and reset back to a more natural state…we eat differently against those emotions.
Longer one goes on a extreme low carb plan and allows oneself to eat all those foods on this plan, be it very low carb keto or zero carb, then we can eat as much as we need, as long as we stay on that food plan list You can eat as much steak, crab legs, bacon, pork belly, and so much more as we need. Feed the body good food thru any stress eating times and you still did a great feat
Not a darn thing wrong with doing just that!!!
FB you are changing on this plan. I see it in how you write about your food and feelings about how this plan is changing you. I love it!!
ZC is all about natural fasting, we never ever force it but as your body heals more your body also will change its requirements on food intake. We listen to our bodies. We give it what it needs at all times, or not give it food as it asks. It is a beautiful way to live life Most natural and I am so happy you are doing so well!!!
