Yeah one needs a helper for that*. And for almost everything. Very very very horrible if one has nothing close to them. I would really hate if a stranger did it (but I would really hate to break my arms to begin with).
I heard about people getting such injuries in motorbike accidents, sometimes I think about poor souls… I only broke one wrist and not on my dominant arm at that, it was super easy even with surgery (as I refused the barbaric, very unnecessary cast. I would have gotten miserable and suicidal with one).
*At least normal people do. Considering whatever I saw in videos about people with severe disabilities (people without limbs driving a car, getting off the lid from bottles and NOT dropping it like I often do… okay, that gal had part of her lower arm so she could use her elbow joints, it’s invaluable! and the car was special but STILL!!!), I am cautious when it comes to saying what is impossible but if one has all their limbs in good working order and then suddenly loses them, the very beginning must be super tough. And breaks heal very quickly. If I slip and hurt my foot, that takes several months Okay, that is a part I walk with but still, it’s bad I can’t run or cycle for 3+ months. Maybe I need some joint strengthening…
